Title: Is KOTV a local station anymore?
Post by: Townsend on October 15, 2009, 09:43:24 AM
I've noticed they're using OKC news alot and splitting the stories with them.

This morning one of their stories was headlined with
QuoteBomb Squad Clears Suspicious Package Left at Downtown Church
.

I expected to see a story about one of our downtown churches but it was about an OKC church.

I'm not holding an open bottle of pills or anything about it but was curious.

KRMG-KOTV-KWTV-The Oklahoman-Tulsa World  have some sort of sharing thing. Same thing happens with Tulsa World headlines, you end up reading about someplace else.

Here is a TW story on management being done out of OKC now.

Has the new building been totally put off now? I want HD news from a station I like (all be it that is slipping) already.

Griffin family owns 6 (Tulsa) and 9 (OKC)

The Tulsa facilities are crap which makes working out of OKC even more attractive.

The Griffin's bought and leveled the lot and went 50/50 on the park lot. It is going to take awhile for ad revenues to start back up so they can afford construction.

Lately, 6 resembles Faux News.... even 5 is superior. Sad.

FOTD was watching Chenowith on Dave two weeks ago and an engineer popped in front with commercials during her and Dave's back and forth. It was pathetic. Lasted over a minute before the idiot engineer even noticed.

Interesting time to revive this thread (or a close facsimilie of the original).  The TW reports that Regina Moon (She left back in March when they "merged" operations in OKC) has been named as the CEO of the Tulsa Red Cross.

KOTV is an Oklahoma-City based station with a small Tulsa Bureau.
That's pretty much it.

With falling ad revenues for all local stations (and trying to support a second Tulsa station, CW)  the construction is going nowhere.

"5" (Fox23) doesnt have anything to do with the Faux News Network, it's a Fox Television affiliate)

The only commonality is that foreign wingnut owner, obviously.

I've heard from a person at KOTV that Griffins are wanting to cut back.  Don't know if this is playing a part or not.
