What should a guy and girl where to this place for a weekday dinner date? Give me some examples...I'm an idiot on this topic.
I took my wife there once on a weekday. I wore slacks and knit shirt, hard soled leather shoes, with a leather jacket. IOW, fairly casual. I really liked the place but my wife doesn't care much for Italian. It seemed kind of New York to me.
Slacks and a polo would cut it, it is fairly casual, though its a date so dress to impress :P Think business casual, no tie needed, but nice none the less.
As for the restaurant the setting is fairly romantic (candles on the table type of thing), somewhat eclectic (decor), but inviting. The Manicotti is lovely the pasta (and most all they serve) is freshly made, both the chicken and eggplant parmesan are some of the best I have had in town. To be honest though I have never had anything I didn't like at Mary's.
Sorry you didn't ask for a mini review :P
I think a bolo tie is mandatory.

omg!!!! Would you accompany with those black roll-down boots with the studded belt wrapped around and the gold satin jacket?

No, studded belts are passé.
Wear boots and a western shirt and that bolo would look alright.
It's a casual place and the food is excellent.
How was your date? Went there this week and it was SO GOOD...calmari, chicken parm, salad dressing...all YUM.
