Title: Front page MSN article has OK ranked 49th in Brain Health
Post by: Hawkins on October 07, 2009, 03:55:25 PM
Images of Steve Martin running and banging the pots yelling, "Oklahoma Oklahoma Oklahoma Oklahoma!!" cross my mind.  :D

Sad fact is WAY too many Okies smoke and visit casinos. Bad for the brain.

Edit:

I just found another article linked to this one that lists Tulsa as the 9th "Smokiest" city in the United States.

*sigh*

Sad fact, we are a very unhealthy state.

When I visit New Mexico or Colorado and see people walking to work, riding bikes, and doing outdoors things I can't help but notice most of the populace isn't 30%+ over weight.  Living here I have just accepted it as a norm.  Particular fat kids.   :(

I'm guilty too.  I don't eat very well (did someone say bacon?), might drink a little too often, and surely don't work out enough.  So I'm not passing the buck, just lamenting the fact.  But I'm proud to report me brain work good.

Did someone say bacon?! Yum!!

I'm guilty as well.

But-- I have a Wii. Does that help? According to the study, testing your mind with hobbies and tasks does increase brain health. Video games included.   ;D

Egads, I am so tired of being lumped in with Mississippi, Louisiana, and Arkansas in "worst this, worst that" statistics.
