anyone know?
Dirt is moving....I've asked WM employees but they're not saying anything...ignorance or truth?
Anyone here know?
A panda house restaurant (or something like that) is going on to the site to the east of their main driveway off of 21st.
Panda Express
Ick.
New development, new business, yup, yadda yadda yadda, all good...
But really, ick.
Hmm, so I will have a place I can go eat Panda within a mile of my house. How quaint.

I'm not too pumped either.
Meh. Panda. Yay.
A new restaurant
Obscures neighborhood walmart
serving panda bear?
blah may something more edible or useful be built in the other 2 or 3 spaces..
I'm guessing we'll see alot of these riding back and forth between Panda and Walmart.

I saw on the construction wire today that Panda Express is building a new restaurant in Broken Arrow as well. I didn't think they'd re-populated the Panda population well enough for us to be eating them.
A new one just opened near the corner of 71st and Mingo. It's a garish, soul-killing place.

That'd make a terrific fortune cookie: "This is a garish, soul-killing place."
I went to Panda out of curiosity and found that the food there is surprisingly decent. Better than most of your typical greasy fast food Chinese places, at any rate.

I really wish the review was brighter.

It will give the mobs from Murphy's property someplace other than Walmart to ransack.
The Whirled said yesterday they were about to break ground, but last I looked the foundation was in.

Actually Panda Express isn't bad. And this town is sorely lacking in Asian takeout. I'd gladly see all the dirty rundown eggroll express et all... in this town cloned into something like this. At least it's kept clean. If I wanted gourmet I'd be paying gourmet prices.
Google shows dozens of chinese places within a few miles of the new Panda Express: HERE (http://maps.google.com/maps?f=q&source=s_q&hl=en&geocode=&q=Chinese+food&mrt=yp&sll=36.132052,-95.913734&sspn=0.045614,0.077162&ie=UTF8&radius=2.15&rq=1&ev=zo&hq=Chinese+food&hnear=&ll=36.13226,-95.920944&spn=0.045614,0.077162&z=14). There isn't really a shortage. Golden Chef of Tulsa is my Chinese takeout place.
The Panda Express is neither a benefit for a detriment in my book. It's a decent chain, but nothing special. But it's development in underutilized space. I'll certainly try the new kid on the block though.
Oh I agree that there is no shortage. And while I'm certainly no food snob, in my opinion the vast majority of what is currently available in the variety of fast food, is sorely lacking. There are one or two that I eat at on occasion, but for me the rest of them are filthy with mediocre at best food. I suppose i should have said lacking in Good/Clean Asian takeout lol. There are plenty of dives and questionable restaurants to play Russian roulette at.
"Fast food" makes good on half the promise of its name.

Do you ever go to Golden Gate at 26th & Harvard in the Steve's Sundry center? Great made to order, especially their combo fried rice, it makes two or three meals.
Townsend- There's really no such thing as "healthy" Chinese in this part of the country. There are a couple of Thai places in town I'd consider healthy, but so much Chinese is fried, has tons of fat in it, or HFCS.

I saw the stat and thought I'd post it since there was one going in by our neighborhoods. I used to fool myself into thinking take out wasn't bad for me since there were so many vegetables...then reality kicked in.
I really think they should have to post nutrition information. It might help our weight issues.

No kidding! I only go for Chinese now if I'm looking to be bad for dinner or lunch. Do you and the Mrs. ever partake in Thai Siam? I'm thinking with tinges of the flu, I'm due for Tom Yum Gai soup.

We have...I made the mistake of learning I don't like coconut milk on my first trip there.
I know the other food is good due to being told numerous times from others but I have a hard time going back to a place when all I know is a dish that wasn't to my liking.
I need to give it another shot.

Make sure you ask for Tom Yum Gai, not creme of sum yung gai :P
I would like to see The Better Price Store, part 2 go in there.
What Tulsa is lacking is Chinese DELIVERY. For take out I go to the place next door to the Colony - family run and made to order. I've been meaning to the Golden Gate place over by Steve's, but I guess I've been sticking with what works.

I agree. When Hot Wok very first brought delivery to town, they offered a somewhat reasonable product even if a bit overpriced. Soon, however, the quality started suffering as did delivery times. A few months later some guy in a mullet delivered the wrong order of cold food in his rusted out camero and that was sadly the last time we ordered. Not even sure if they are around anymore.
Kung Fu Kitchen...21st between Memorial and Mingo.
Excellent fast food and good prices.
