Title: More pushover assessments?
Post by: shadows on September 06, 2009, 06:29:40 AM
Seems there is suit being filed by property owners in the IDL.  The assessment of these property owners having large square footage warehouses in the loop, where they keep the front door locked to stop people from wandering in is in question.

This is based on increasing traffic in the area which will increase sales.  True it will increase traffic but will be a deterrent to shipping and receiving wholesale merchandise through the increase traffic.

This is another try by the city to assess property by the square feet like the trash assessment of which legal told the judge that the city would come up with a more equable solution in the next three months.  They still have not come up with the solution. IMO

The city is entering into the real-state domain again through a trust.

Is it time for a change in the policy?.
