Shot at the Sound Pony sprints on N. Main St. on Aug. 25. He passed out a few minutes later and was taken to the ER with a concussion and some orthpaedic injuries. Nasty crash from where I was standing at the time.
In USCycling sanctioned races, you have to cross the finish line with your bicycle. You don't have to be riding it, so it's entirely possible to pick up the bike and run with it (ala American Flyers). I couldn't do stop motion, but it didn't appear to me that he was in contact with the bike when he crossed the line.
I hope he was OK. That truly was a nasty fall. Chances are he didn't feel it until later when the adrenaline wore off.
Atleast he had his priorities right.....
