At least Teddy thought so:
How long are you going to keep posting about a dead woman or a dead Senator?

As long as the lines are to walk by this guy's casket in reverence over the wonderful life he led.

It was just an elaborate way of saying, "Until he is in the ground"
As long as you also point out that Laura Bush killed a guy, I guess I'm okay. ;)
Apparently Guido's without sin.
Here ya go, some more for you.

Oh I'm sinful all right. I just don't go around joking about it like the swimmer did. Jeez, anyone want to comment on the video?

She drowned, his brain was eaten by cancer, and this subject died decades ago.
I understand what happened 40 years ago...Kennedy revealed a lack of character that made me never really like him. I would have never voted for him, even though I loved much of the work he did as a Senator. America should be grateful for his service.
I just don't know how long after a man dies you think it is reasonable to keep bringing up his mistakes that happened so long ago. Thank you for answering that question of mine.
Have you heard any good jokes about Guido (bad a$$)?
RM, the woman in the accident was a victim of her own bad judgement.
Kennedy was a victim of shock and awe....
Guido is a pretard victim.

I hope you never make a public mistake and then go on to change millions of lives for the better through your work.
I think it's fair to say that Ted Kennedy has done far more good for our country than any of us posting here, despite his error in judgement.
What's interesting is that we apply 2009 standards to his 1969 behavior. Had he reported the crash immediately and been found to be drunk, it's unlikely he would have had to do any more than pay a fine. Drunk driving was tolerated then like cell phone use while driving is today.
What's probably more interesting is that I'm bothering to dignify guido's ghoulish behavior with a response.

I understand, leaving someone to die is okay if you've done something good (allegedly) later in life. And joking about an event that resulted in another's death is also okay.

Arguable? Whatever.

Later events don't make it 'okay,' (presuming he was even truly culpable for the Kopechne's death..for all I know she could have been blind drunk), but what you're missing is that one event does not an entire life make. Or maybe you think it does.

Here is a blogger at Huffington Post that sorta shares your views:

The last line: "Who knows -- maybe she'd [Kopechne] feel it [her death] was worth it."
Don't worry, y'all, it's just Gweeds Freeper showing again...
