Title: 2.3 Gigapixel BOK Center Picture (Work in Progress)
Post by: Cats Cats Cats on June 15, 2009, 09:56:10 AM
It was about 420 14 megapixel photos.  I have some problems with Vignetting because I was zoomed in so much (all of the block dots that show up when you are zoomed out. http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Vignetting (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Vignetting).  I am going to try to crop the photos and hopefully I can still create it.  Also, in the middle the clouds covered the sun for about 5 photos so they are a different color :( .  And then about 330 pictures into a dust blob hit the lens and I didn't notice until I got home!

Anyway, this is only my 2nd attempt to do these photos, I am going to try to do some post processing and clean it up a bit.  The process to join the photos didn't do it perfectly so there are many places where things don't match up.  (working on that too)

What should I take a photo of next?

You can see the rivets/screws when you zoom in

Good job man.  Very clear, well joined.  However, I must admit to spending more time looking at gigapix of crowds (have to be from a gigapix camera, not joined images) where you can eyeball the crowd in detail.

Nonetheless, good job.

You would have to have like a multiple camera array if you wanted to get High Res + People in Crowds.  Unless of course your crowd would hold still for about 10 seconds without moving.

There were errors galore in the connections on that picture because there were so many pictures.

That is 2.3 gigapixel and this one from another view that is only .33 only has a few less noticeable ones.

I cleaned up the photos a little bit but the errors on joining remain.

Looks a lot better zoomed out now though.

I fixed the stitching errors and the streak of color.  Oh and it is 3.82 gigapixels now

I also added a Joe Momma's logo in there somewhere if anybody can find it... It is transparent so it isn't obvious from the zoomed out picture.
