Title: Letterman=Jacka$$
Post by: guido911 on June 11, 2009, 11:51:28 AM
Hanson nails it:

What was even more pathetic was Letterman's excuse last night..He meant Bristol, 18 (who was in Alaska), as the person A-Roid knocked up and not Willow, 14, who was at the Yankee game.

How would that have played calling Hillarity Clinton slutty and saying Keith Hernandez knocked up Chelsea back in the day?

From a PUMA website:

"The category tonight, Top Ten highlights from Michelle Obama's visit to New York. I didn't know she was coming but we made room for her on the show. I hope she shows us those wonderful arms.

"She was here, she was up at Yankee Stadium, Top Ten highlights from Michelle Obama's trip to New York:

10. Visited New York landmarks of the country she's finally proud of.

9. Laughed at all the homeless whiteys she saw on the streets.

8. Made collard greens and chitlins on Rachel Ray.

7. Broke into and stole a car.

6. After pulling a gun and screaming, "I'm gonna pop a cap in your donkey" at a drug dealer, scored a kilo of cocaine for her husband, Barry Obeyme.

5. Made a sleeveless sweater out of 100 live rats.

4. Sat in for Kelly Ripa after Michelle pulled a knife on Kelly and threatened to slice and dice her.

3. Finally met a "whitey".

2. Bought makeup at Bloomingdales to cover up her ugly-donkey, gorrilla face.

1. Especially enjoyed showing off her $540 sneakers at a local homeless shelter.

"In a related story, Michelle attended a Yankee's game. One awkward moment during the game. Maybe you heard about it or saw it on one of the highlight reels. An awkward moment for Michelle Obama at the Yankee's game. During the 7th inning, both her daughters were knocked up by Alex Rodriguez. You can see how that would be awkward. But, given President Obeyme's love of abortion there are no worries."

Wonder how the media would have responded had Letterman spouted that off.

Yeah, I think he crossed the line... cheap, tacky... just say you're sorry and be done with it... I didn't hear that in his so-called apology...

Thanks for chiming in on Chelsea there, Gaspar.  Reminded me of how utterly cheap and tacky the right wing was in the 90s...

"Why is Chelsea Clinton so ugly? Because her father is Janet Reno."
-- Sen. John McCain, speaking to a Republican dinner, June 1998.

Perspective for ya:  Chelsea Clinton was never an unwed mother like Bristol and let's keep in mind that Bristol and Levi have been on the talkshow circuit talking about abstinence vs. safe sex; while the Clintons were very careful to keep Chelsea out of the limelight so she could have a reasonable childhood...

More fun quotes over the years from Letterman:

"Today is a big day in TV history. On this day forty-one years ago, the Beverly Hillbillies aired for the first time right here on CBS. They took a little break, then in 1992, they moved into the White House for eight years."

"Hillary Clinton, our junior senator from New York, announced that she has no intentions of ever, ever running for office of the President of the United States. Her husband, Bill Clinton, is bitterly disappointed. He is crushed. There go his dreams of becoming a two-impeachment family."

"Congratulations are in order for Woody Allen - he and Soon Yi have a brand new baby daughter. It's all part of Woody's plan to grow his own wives."

"No one knows if Saddam is still alive. They keep showing old footage of him on TV saying that it's live. You know, it's like the same thing we do with Dick Cheney."

"Yesterday Senator John Kerry changed his mind and now supports the ban on gay marriages. I'm telling you this guy has more positions than Paris Hilton."

....and here's the only time I think Letterman ever actually apologized for anything....

I got that from a PUMA website, actually hiibuzz, a pro-Hillary/democrat site. Those folks over there actually care about women's issues as opposed to NOW, which is eerily quiet over Letterman's sexist and statutory rape "humor".  Where's PMCalk on this matter? She should be screaming at Letterman.

The point in the post is about the media double standard. I do not think whoever created that "top ten" had a racist motive, and I most certainly did not in reposting here.

My opinion is more liberal, or at least I've seen it that way since the '06 elections.  I'm seeing more and more commentary in it which is more middle-of-the road.  Arianna used to be in the GOP.  She libbed out for some reason along the way.

Ha ha ha! Somewhere some ahole is screaming 'Nooooooo! Nooooooo!'

Excoriated? By whom? And even if the best the womyn-hating liberals can say in defense of the truly hateful and vile extreme comments directed at neocon womyn in their sicko 'conservatives do it too' defense is from nearly 20 years ago...

This really is fascism. Not godwinning the issue but when neocon babes are called sluts on lettermans show, their children are objectified as sex objects, their rape is joked about in the womyn-empowering pages of playboy... Well this is bad. The message is if womyn who are not baby-killing lumberjacks are female uncle toms, gender-betrayers, stupid fundamentalists who stupidly obey their husbands like slaves. Palin was on this morning and Prejean was on another news program...there was about 20 minutes of muted silence in my house.

I thought maybe NPR would be worth listening to...then it was a story about the new movie coming out "Food, Inc.".  Supposed to be a great movie about where our food comes from and how it's making us sick (chicken farms and slaughter houses)...I was making eggs and sausage.

Not my morning for keeping up with current events.

Prejean?  She was the winner of a "I'm pretty" contest.  No threat.  I'd just rather hear about things that effect me, not Trump's empire.

Yeah Letterman, it's not as if Palin is still the governor of the largest state and just drew 20,000 people to see her in New York or something.

Largest state in Land Area, it is the least densely populated state, and ranks #47 in total population.  Guido, I admire your ability to spin the numbers even though your spin is completely misleading.  There are less voters in Alaska than there are in Oklahoma.  That is reality.

Afraid of Palin or Prejean,  no,  I do feel sorry for them.   I am not afraid of women with strong stands.  Women who make their sex the major link in their stand I feel sorry for them.  Women who have no problem being who they are, I admire them.   Prejean will become a talking head with Fox News so that they can showcase her sexiness on one of their shows wearing the short skirts and not having to be too serious in interviews.  Palin,  I do predict she will also end up on Fox as a commentator maybe backing up Bill O'Reilly and Sean Hannity as the female voice like Megan Kelly does now.  Good for them,  Carrie will have the start to an interesting future and Sarah will be able to bring home the paycheck her husband doesn't seem to do.   Didn't you know that Joe Scaraborough is the new head of the Republican party.  Those women have no chance against the redneck from Pensacola.  And I know he is a redneck because I grew up in the town next door to Pensacola.

I do feel that David Letterman went too far with his jokes.  And the fact that Chelsea Clinton was called a Dog by Rush does not make it anywhere near right.   Both were wrong.

As to the 20,000, that was a crowd of true believers.   She was not drawing in anyone who did not worship the Queen of Alaska.   Sort of like if a rock group from the 70s played the new BOK arena, they are not expecting any young folks interested in learning something new.  The crowd knows what to expect and gets testy if they don't get it.

http://www.foxnews.com/story/0,2933,526055,00.html

joe and T, Palin remains a very popular republican AND public figure due in large part to dooshbags like Letterman, Chuck Nice, and Katie "I can see New Jersey from my house" Couric. They will simply not let go of a woman that threatens them, just like she threatens you guys. Here is a pro-life, pro-gun rights, fiscal conservative, and reforming WOMAN who is the antithesis of what a "woman" should be like according to the likes of you folks. I know, Palin should have aborted Trig, and Bristol should have aborted her child, Palin should not be hunting or fishing but rather get her a$$ back in the kitchen, and how dare she use a tanning bed.

Here's of all folks MSNBC commenting on the mindless "rabid" attacks on Palin:

http://www.eyeblast.tv/public/checker.aspx?v=ydaG2GkUSU

and joe, it's not about spinning the facts. The facts are what they are whether you choose to accept them or not. Palin is a huge fundraiser, party energizer (ask Saxby Chambliss), crowd draw, and according to McCain the reason he got as many votes as he did. Other than Obama, name me any political figure that can draw like Palin? And way to attack those 20,000 people as "true believers". Couldn't possibly be that she is popular and they accept what she believes in. More to the point, I guess those that would appear at an Obama event would be true believers too, right?

I just love it when dems/rinos try to tell GOPers who they should support and why.

Meanwhile. Quit citing that Faux Network hate instigator "news" source. They are unbalanced and not close to fair as they fire up hate in America.

Do you really seriously take Dick Morris as a valid and non partisan commentator?   More like Morris is so desperate to be relevant and contemporary that he will smear anyone he can.   He is a sad little man who reminds me of my 'bitter till his death' grandfather blaming the world for his own misfortune.

His 'apology' is lacking.  He inferred that all flight attendants are slutty.  If I were him, I would avoid eating or drinking anything that was not sealed next time I fly.  If I had the opportunity he would have a nice big chunk of snot blown in his coffee or mashed potatoes as he entertains his sicko fantasies about stewardesses.  And if I were Palin's son in the army - you know the one who volunteered to go at the height of the so-called 'insurgency' - I would be visiting the Ed Sullivan Theater with a special surprise.

I think Dave has been listening to too much Howard Stern and that is why he missed the salient anti-woman, child-rape aspect of the 'joke.'

I didn't watch the video, the angry-looking ugly white chicks scared me off.  I would assume their bosses don't think they are being too productive.

According to the news reports there were 15 - fifteen - protesters at this event.  It would seem that they have already lost their steam on their protest if only 15 people are willing to show up to put the hate on David Letterman.
