Keyes had said abortion foes wanted to be arrested on ND campus.

On Thursday, Keyes had announced his plans to protest and be arrested on campus and likened the act to civil disobedience practiced in the civil rights era.
On Friday, as the crowd recited Hail Mary and prayed that campus police officers would join their cause, students stood by wearing T-shirts that read, "Obama? Fine By Me."
"They're just here trying to use this for their cause," said one student, who like the rest of the T-shirt wearing students, refused to give his name. "We're glad the president is coming."
Activist Keyes has May 28 court date following ND arrest

Keyes and 21 other people were arrested Friday for trespassing as they began a protest against Notre Dame's invitation to President Barack Obama, who on Sunday will be the commencement speaker and receive an honorary degree. The protesters pushed strollers containing dolls covered in fake blood to protest Obama's support for abortion rights and fetal stem-cell research.
Of the 22 people arrested, 10 have home addresses in St. Joseph County or other nearby communities.

Yep. Keyes is not only an attention whore, he's a professional attention whore up there with Sharpton, Bill Donahue, Cindy Sheehan blah blah blah. Keyes openly boasted days before the event that he would get arrested.
Barry Goldwater: 'I would remind you that extremism in the defense of liberty is no vice! And let me remind you also that moderation in the pursuit of justice is no virtue.'

What is wrong with you? You just do not get it. Funny? A non-violent protester gets abused by heavily armed NWO troops and you applaud, even laugh? Yet when an OHP-NWO troop abuses a paramedic we should be SHOCKED? Further, your filthy monicker is now being used agains women - and yet no one objects. Whores. Despicable, vile terms leveled against conscientious protesters. And will it be funny when 'Tea Party' protesters are ruffed up? Or those stupid, disgusting 'pro-lifers' get their arms broken and maced in the face for daring to carry a sign?
WAKE UP! I disagree with Carter an overwhelming majority of the time but I figger as a former president he has earned his soapbox. What did you do to earn the right to disparage these people in such despicable terms? Oh.

Nicely done! That really responds to the gist of my point. I will stick my viewpoint somewhere: calling people who stand up for their beliefs despicable names is a sign of real sickness, IMO. You really just do not get it, or you do get it and are so brainwashed and/or willfully ignorant that you do not care how vile the things you say are. And through this, I still hold out hope for you and do not condemn you.
The Police State is the Police State is the Police State. 'Pro-life' means more than being anti-abortion. A former POTUS is entitled to his soap-box - whether I agree or not. I do not know what the Code Pinkers were saying outside of WR, may have been something as despicable as what you say. Maybe they were protesting the conditions inside of that snake-pit. Maybe they were calling for end to the Occupation of Iraq so that more soldiers were not maimed and traumatized by this Council on Foreign Relations' adventure.
And just so you know: when the anti-war protesters were at 21st/Yale before the Invasion, I counter-protested. I have come a long way in my understanding. How about you? Do you understand that 1.3 million Iraqis died in this adventure? Do you not know that the USA is now the world's largest drug dealer by allowing heroin and high-grade pot to be grown and harvested in Afghanistan - and yet we spend BILLIONS flying choppers around our nation looking for patches of dope and raiding it like the growers were Al-queda?
But no, you are more concerned calling people filthy, vile names. How sad!

A new analysis of the total fatalities in the Iraq war during the presidency of George W. Bush demonstrates that the likely number is between 800,000 and 1.3 million. The analysis appears in The Nation (Feb. 16, 2009)[/font]

And again no response from 'Mr 1st Amendment' about the MILITARY classifying protests as stage one terrorists. This dude claims he joined the Army to scrub toilets for free speech and when presented with the fact that free speech is being flushed down the toidy hole BY THE MILITARY he worships he shrugs.
Did you take those pics at Walter Reed yourself? How do you know where they were taken? Was Barney at Walter Reed? Was Condi? C'mon now. Think it through. You can do it.

I didn't reply to defend Code Pink. I replied to point out that there's a difference between "Recruiters Lie, Children Die," and "We support the murder of American troops." It's sloppy of you to assume because Code Pink protests the government, the military, and the Iraq War that they also want troops to die. It's just not so. A cursory look at Code Pink's website and some of the actual reporting on their protests pretty much proves that "We support the murder of the American Troops" is completely the opposit of Code Pink's stated goals.
It does fit your prejudices about the antiwar movement, however, so I can't say I'm surprised to see that kind of stuff in one of your posts.

I didn't reply to defend Code Pink. I replied to point out that there's a difference between "Recruiters Lie, Children Die," and "We support the murder of American troops." The last vestige of an argument is name-calling. G-dawg posts shopped photos after declaring CP had demonstrated at Walter Reed as an illustration of how evil they are, could not find anything to support his argument and so just posts any old pics. WVU rightly notes that the 'murder' pic was a fraud, a forgery, and now BB calls him a stupid-head.
G-dawg wants to defend police brutality. Clear and simple. BB wants to defend the military's labeling of protesters as latent terrorists. Fine. But if you cannot do better than to repost the pic of some poor soul who has destroyed his brain, what are you even doing? BB, I do not think that is funny. That is sad. Sad that you are so vacant of empathy and the ability to chip in anything worthwhile.
1.3 M died. Event he 'father of Reagonomics' puts the figger at 1 M. Funny how the anti-abortion folk can believe the nation can slaughter 52 M 'babies' but cannot conceive that we could be responsible for 1.3 M deaths in Iraq. Funny how the Federal government cannot be trusted to run health care because how dysfunctional it is but yet we can trust it to invade and try to occupy foreign countries.
Crickets is right, G-dawg!

Idiot activists from Green Peace deface Mount Rushmore:

Deface?
They unfurled a banner.
Made their point.
Greenpeace uses these tactics on a regular basis.
You don't have to like them, but have to admit they don't resort to terrorism and haven't used the "in your face" tactics other groups attempt to their own detriment...
Spraypaint on Teddy Roosevelt's nose would be defacing Mt Rushmore....
The problem with attention whores like Code Pink is the unintended consequences of their actions when they use those "in your face" tactics... people started hating PETA around the time activists started dousing paint on anyone wearing fur... kinda reminds me of the time a militant vegetarian I worked with wouldn't stop insulting me when I once brought back some KFC for lunch... I finally made a mistake by saying the chicken woulda died anyway, and he responded with an insult to my grandmother, who'd recently died of breast cancer....
So, I brought back KFC chicken for lunch and ate it in front of him every single day for a full week, sneering at him the entire time, proudly exhibiting my meat-eating freedom.
Once again, unintended consequences...
