Will someone please tell the head on homeland security that illegal immigration is a crime:
KING: A lot of Democrats in Congress want to you investigate him. They think he is over the line. He says he is just enforcing the law and the problem is the federal government.
NAPOLITANO: Well, you know, Sheriff Joe, he is being very political in that statement, because he knows that there aren't enough law enforcement officers, courtrooms or jail cells in the world to do what he is saying.
What we have to do is target the real evil-doers in this business, the employers who consistently hire illegal labor, the human traffickers who are exploiting human misery.
And yes, when we find illegal workers, yes, appropriate action, some of which is criminal, most of that is civil, because crossing the border is not a crime per se. It is civil. But anyway, going after those as well.

That says "crossing the border"...not immigrating Guido. I've crossed the border many times, all of them legal. You're trying too hard.

quido, if you lived in this part of the country you would probably have a different view (or maybe not) They're called border crossers so that it's not being discriminatory, biased, prejudiced or racist. Besides do you know how many cross through AZ in a year? Do you know how many die crossing here in a year? Have you seen the news coverage of the 10 to 20 drop houses with 30 to 60 people held hostage with no water, or electricity a year? And that not including the 350~ that were kidnapped in the Phoenix area last year. Have you heard of the running gun battles between rival coyotes as the drive through rush hour traffic in the morning? Have you ever seen the trash that is left behind when they gather outside a Home Depot looking for work? Or how about this, Mexican Federales workint for the drug cartel dressed up in Phoenix Police uniform preforming a hit on a drug dealer in a neighbor hood with AK-47's firing over 200 rounds into that person and other peoples homes to prove a point?

As for Napalitano, her first failure of incompetence will provide grounds for her dismissal, lets hope that doesn't cost any lives.
In the meantime it is imperative that government officials, law enforcement, and contractors at every level do everything within their power to fill the vacuum. The last few months have been insane, but I know we have good people in all levels of government that can provide support and leadership over the next four years.

Homeland Security chief seeks to repeal Real ID Act
WASHINGTON (CNN) -- A post-9/11 law that sets federal standards for state driver's licenses and identification cards is under fire from the head of the agency enforcing that law, the Department of Homeland Security.
Homeland Security chief Janet Napolitano, here last week in San Pedro, California, wants to replace the Real ID.
Homeland Security Secretary Janet Napolitano this week said she is working with governors to repeal the Real ID Act, which was passed in 2005 and went into effect last year.
The bill is popular in Washington, but is scorned by many governors who bear the responsibility and cost of validating that holders of driver's licenses are citizens or legal residents of the United States.
Napolitano, former governor of Arizona, said she has met with governors of both parties recently "to look at a way to repeal Real ID." She said she wants to substitute the federal law with "something else that pivots off of the driver's license but accomplishes some of the same goals. And we hope to be able to announce something on that fairly soon."
Napolitano made her remarks Tuesday in response to a question at a conference of the Anti-Defamation League.
On Wednesday, Rep. James Sensenbrenner, R-Wisconsin, a sponsor of the law, said he was "angered" by Napolitano's comments.
"Real ID is a necessary program for keeping America safe. It is the will of Congress and also a recommendation of the 9/11 Commission," Sensenbrenner said.

"When the Democrats took over the majority in the 110th Congress, they said they wanted to implement all of the 9/11 Commission recommendations. I am highly disappointed that they are going back on their word by repealing this important recommendation, and substituting it with a weaker, less safe program that provides terrorists with too many avenues to attack."
While Napolitano is looking for ways to repeal Real ID, her department's Web site continues to espouse the law's merits.
"Raising the standards of state-issued identification is an important step toward enhancing national security," the Web site says.
"Because a driver's license serves so many purposes [access to federal buildings, nuclear power plants, boarding aircraft, etc.], terrorists actively seek fraudulent state-issued identification. The Real ID rules will make it more difficult for them, while making it easier for law enforcement to detect falsified documents," it says.
The law, which requires all states to enforce specific identification requirements for driver's licenses and identification cards, went into effect last year, but the federal government has given states until the end of this year to implement it. States can get extensions until May 2011 for implementation if they meet certain benchmarks.

Janet Napolitano and the New Third Way
Arizona's governor has contained Republicans, reinvigorated Democrats, and provided a new model for progressive politics in the West.
http://www.prospect.org/cs/articles?article=janet_napolitano_and_the_new_third_way
Napolitano's rhetoric -- and governing style -- has proved both successful and wildly popular. Today, it is almost impossible to find an Arizona progressive with a bad word to say about her, though it hasn't always been that way. In 2002, the local alt-weekly, the Phoenix New Times, dubbed Napolitano a "poster blob for milquetoast party apparatchiks" and even "a neutered Republican." Longtime Latino community activist and former state Sen. Alfredo Gutierrez, who ran against Napolitano in the Democratic gubernatorial primary, hit her from the left, painting her as little more than an ambitious outsider who'd sold out on the death penalty and immigrants' rights. When Napolitano won the election, as expected, and during her first term sent National Guardsmen to the border -- a policy later adopted by the Bush administration--Gutierrez called the decision "an insulting political ploy" and declared the governor "a coward."
But by 2006, as Napolitano faced re-election, Gutierrez was calling her "an extraordinary political figure" with "an amazingly accurate calculus politically." Meanwhile, the New Times named her "Best Politician," writing, "Whenever we criticize her at a cocktail party, longtime Lefty Arizonans (yes, there are one or two) chime in: 'But you should've been here in the past—she's so much better than anybody else we've ever had as governor!'" Progressives had come to appreciate Napolitano's skill at achieving what was possible, while beating back the hardest right initiatives of the state legislature's Republican majority.
Arizona's political climate is harshly conservative on issues such as immigration, taxes, and the death penalty. Even moderate Republicans say they feel stymied by the right. For years, liberals defended what little turf they could, racking up a string of electoral losses in the process. Now Arizona progressives have learned, sometimes the hard way, that Janet Napolitano may be the best advocate for sense and sensibility in a political generation.
----------------------------------------------------------------------------------
If the Republican chattering classes don't stop this hyperpartisan crap, I predict Obama will win Arizona in four years....
I assume you don't want that... or do you?

Ohio Militia Calls for Armed March on Washington

Ohio Militia Calls for Armed March on WashingtonPosted in Militias by David Holthouse on April 24, 2009
"The self-identified leader of the Ohio Militia, a conspiracy-minded "Patriot" group, released a video earlier this week calling for 1 million heavily armed antigovernment demonstrators to march on Washington, D.C., this coming July 4.
"We need to do something," he said. "We need to make a dent."
Identifying himself as "Pale Horse," apparently a reference to the Four Horsemen of the Apocalypse, and speaking through a creepy voice distorter, the Ohio militiaman detailed his brazen vision: "A peaceful demonstration of at least a million — hey, if we can get 10 million, even better — but at least one million armed militia men marching on Washington. A peaceful demonstration. No shooting, no one gets hurt. Just a demonstration. The only difference from any typical demonstration is we will all be armed."
The Ohio Militia website contains apocalyptic language and imagery, along with references to various 9/11 and "North American Union" conspiracy theories. Videos show men said to be Ohio Militia members engaged in small-unit, live-fire combat training. One video is titled "America's Wake Up Call: Buy Guns." A different video slideshow depicts assault weapons, mushroom clouds, George Bush, Satan, Osama bin Laden and lots of men in camouflage on maneuvers. It's set to "Goofy's Concern," a song by Butthole Surfers, a psychedelic rock band from Austin, Texas, that includes these lyrics: "I don't give a love about the FBI! I don't give a love about the CIA! I don't give a love about LSD! I don't give a love about anything!"
That video concludes with a message to the Michigan Militia, one of the largest and oldest militia groups in the country: "Thanks for letting us train at Camp Stasa with you guys."
It isn't clear that the Ohio Militia is capable of bringing a busload of protesters to Washington, let alone a million or more. But Pale Horse's call for a gathering of gun-toting militia forces in the nation's capital brings to mind a similar infamous call to arms issued in 1994 by Patriot movement attorney, filmmaker and conspiracy theorist Linda Thompson. Thompson — who once told the editor of this blog about being personally and repeatedly followed by black helicopters, shot at by mysterious attackers, and having a beloved dog zapped by a secret government ray gun — was probably best known for producing the pseudo-documentary "Waco: The Big Lie," which alleged a government mass murder in the 1993 standoff in Texas. Although the video was widely circulated, its claims were soon debunked.
Proclaiming herself "Acting Adjutant General" of the "Unorganized Militia of the United States," Thompson announced that her armed march would take place on Sept. 19, 1994. She said her unorganized army would demand the repeal of the North American Free Trade Agreement and the Brady Bill, a gun control measure. U.S. senators and congressmen who refused to accede would be arrested, tried for treason and, if necessary, executed by firing squad or hanging, she said.
Thompson's plan was almost universally denounced by right-wing groups, including most of the militias that were then appearing all over the country, who accused her of attempting to lead them on a suicide mission. Many in the movement suspected that Thompson was an agent provocateur working for the government.
Response to Pale Horse's suggestion for a more "peaceful" display of force remains to be seen."
WOW!

Tiller died because some idiot murdered him. It does not make him a martyr.
However; I am willing to bet that the far left will canonize him. I think that's a mistake. . .but let them twirl.
Even among the far left pro-abortion crowd he was considered radical in his practices, and his techniques were certainly taboo topics in the political realm.
He leaves a legacy as a pioneer, advancing his science. His specialty was advanced late term abortions, and he was respected as the foremost expert in his field.
Tiller developed several new techniques and even invented new surgical tools necessary to perform his trade and still satisfy the fabric of the law. By performing terminations on "fetuses" that would otherwise be viable outside of the womb, he was required to maneuver in very limited spaces dealing with moving, reacting targets. Everything had to take place internally or he could risk being charged with murder. He walked a very fine line.
My thoughts and prayers are with his family.

Feds hunting for right-wing extremist 'on a mission to kill the president'
By David Neiwert Friday Jun 05, 2009
Now here is a disturbing story:
Federal authorities in Utah are searching for a man who allegedly made threats against President Obama.
Daniel James Murray has been charged with making threats against Obama, after telling a bank teller he was part of a "mission" to kill the president. The Secret Service says Murray has at least eight registered firearms. His whereabouts are unknown.
Murray entered Zion's First National Bank in St. George, Utah, May 19, to open a savings account with an $85,000 check, according to a criminal complaint filed in federal court in Salt Lake City today.
Murray allegedly asked if the bank was solvent and then stated, according to the complaint, "With all this mess going on under President Obama with banks and the economy, I'm sure if citizens happen to lose their money, they will rise up and we could see killing and deaths."
Sounds like someone who's been watching Glenn Beck, doesn't it?
On May 27, the complaint states, Murray came back to withdraw $12,698 from his savings account. He did not have proper identification and was told he needed it to complete the transaction. He allegedly said, "Not to be disrespectful, but if I don't get this money, someone is going to die."
The bank manager allowed the transaction, and Murray allegedly demanded bills smaller than $50 in non-sequential order.
Murray then said, "We are on a mission to kill the president of the United States," according to the complaint.
Murray told the teller during that visit, the complaint added, "We are 94 million miles from the sun, and are in-between the sun and moon, and the eagle that flies between them, and it's a giant step for mankind. ... I have traveled thousands of miles to be here and know things that are going to happen. ... The banking system will fail and people will die. ... There will be chaos in the world."
The next day, according to the complaint, Murray withdrew the remaining $72,000 and closed his account.
But perhaps the most disturbing part of the whole story is this:
A Secret Service spokesman said there will be no further comment on the case because it involves protective intelligence.
"This is one of a gazillion cases," the spokesman told ABC News. "It's not that out of the ordinary. We see this day in and day out."
Somehow, FOTD finds this all less than comforting.
The Salt Lake Tribune has more.

http://www.npr.org/templates/story/story.php?storyId=111875329
"A man suspected of making threats against the White House was pulled from his car Thursday after an hours-long standoff in the parking lot of the Federal Building in West Los Angeles.
The man had refused to leave his red Volkswagen Beetle and withstood four rounds of chemical agents tossed inside the car after police broke a rear window. About an hour later, officers shot out the drivers window with a bean bag gun, used a Taser on the man and pulled him out.
Secret Service spokesman Ed Donovan identified the suspect as Joseph Moshe, 56, of Los Angeles. Moshe is suspected of calling a police dispatch number Wednesday and making threatening statements about the White House, Donovan said."
Way to go Janet!

She's a moron, but not for the reason you think. She's a moron because she claims there is some system of security. There is no such system. QED.
It annoys me to no end that Obama's TSA is as worthless as Bush's.

"On its Web site, Hutaree quotes several Bible passages and states: "We believe that one day, as prophecy says, there will be an Anti-Christ. ... Jesus wanted us to be ready to defend ourselves using the sword and stay alive using equipment."
They're coming for your guns....soon, your first born....and the books!
This is one of the most obvious areas of how both sides have abandoned the people completely. It was George I who made an amnesty for 12 million illegals. It was George II who wanted to do the same for 25 million more, but didn't because the uproar preempted his action. And the Democrats - whew! What a mess of idiots!

Amen, And if Palin said that? We would be buried by attacks and the MSM would be wetting itself.
Here's another thread making fun of those fighting against domestic right wing terrorists....
No apologies?
