Title: Chief ?
Post by: DolfanBob on March 16, 2009, 05:51:24 PM
James Aydelott just came back from doing weekends in Dallas to being Chief Meterologist at Fox 23.
At KOTV he was the morning weather man until taking the Dallas job.
My question being. Is "Chief" Meterologist a earned position as in study or tests taken and passed ? or is it just a title bestowed on any Weather person buy the hiring station ?
My curious mind wants to know.

I think it's just that 'Chief' sounds better then King Poobah Weather Dude.

It's a given title, but they reserve it for those with experience and name recognition. After you graduate as a meteorologist you bounce between backwoods stations and weekend work until you land the big.. remote.

I was at a party and met a man who said he was a Chief Meterologist. Apparently they travel in tribes, I was not aware of this.  -Bill Engvall.

What no one posted the old goat video?

I am glad he is back always liked him, shame he is on fox however, but maybe he can bring the weather coverage up a tad.
