We have groups for everything under the sun except empty nesters...
You know the type. Had a life full with activities revolving around the kids and then they leave for college and you wonder where the time went.
Give me 16 years and I'll join you.
If you've never had anything remotely resembling a full nest, I guess you don't notice an empty one.
True.
My mom complained about empty nest syndrome after I moved out (my sister was older) ... after a couple of years she finally took over my bedroom, sold my furniture and now makes ten zillion pieces of jewelry. I can imagine it'd be quite depressing until you rediscover yourself.
We have two children, but because of economic conditions, we had to let one go.

I'm trying to rediscover myself by working by subbing at a school, tutoring a couple days a week and taking French at college. Still miss the hustle and bustle of homework, driving to and fro to different activities (all theirs of course), and the hundreds of things we mothers do.
Hubby of course does not mind the peace and quiet, LOL
