Projects in Oklahoma
Below are the "shovel-ready" projects the mayors of this state submitted in the 2008 U.S. Conference of Mayors report. You can click on a project to read (and add to) its description. You can also discuss the project and vote on whether you believe it is critical or not. For a more local view, you can drill down to projects in a particular city. Just choose a city from the following list.
The total of cost of all the projects submitted by Oklahoma is $1,746,435,951
Port Road Extension - Yale Avenue to Sheridan Road
$25mm a mile!!!??? Was that figure before or after Martinez quit PW? I'm in the wrong business.
You get $250k for AmTrak feasability and $42mil for Urban Rail Infrastructure. Let me know how the Urban Rail works out, I think we may have gotten ripped off here to the tune of $300mil.
The package was what? About 500 bill? (not including the tax part) And Oklahoma got less than 2 of that? Interesting.
Per capita stimulus spending by state:

Oklahoma $1,613.
We do OK in our take. Considering it was a Democratic bill and we are among the most Republican states, it looks rather fair.

Our fair share would be $4,502,000.00 dollars from every man, woman and child in Oklahoma. The stimulus is to convert any money that the working poor might get to perks of a runaway bureaucracy. We are over the cliff in free fall and there is no way we can ever pay our present debts.
We need to start printing the $1,000 and $500 dollar bills to save paper and ink.
The title of this thread sounds like a porno flick.
