I think Happy Hour is usually after work, although it doesn't give specific hours.
pinball machines? sweet!
5pm - ???
I worked for a large firm in town, a senior associate sent out a firm-wide email:
quote:
Happy hour tonight at Caz's at the usual time.
To which a senior partner replied to all:
quote:
Your usual time or everyone elses?
I think a time to start would be nice. I am not gonna get there at 5 then sit around for a few hours by myself in some back room, only to have people start showing up at 7. Or conversely wouldnt want to show up at 8 only to watch as everyone leaves or to have missed everyone because they were there early. Plus I am a schedule freak. I am not gonna put "whenever" on my calendar lol. I would say 6-8 is a good time, at least during the winter months. 7 being "peak happy hour" lol.
If this works out to be a regular thing I will try and make one. I'm hoping to get back to Tulsa this spring to visit family and friends that I have not seen in five years, and would like the chance to put some faces with names.
Cheers! The sun is past the yard arm somewhere!
It's 5pm until Joe Momma cuts us off or kicks us out.
Reminder - This is tonight!
I'll be there because I have this JM habit...
Either it's a slow day on the forum or I'm going by myself...
Sorry, but I have a weekly meeting with friends on Wednesday nights at McNellie's. I only get to see some of them once a week, so I'll have to miss.

You can do both...

You have obviously not waited for a table of 11 at mcNellie's on a Wednesday night. [:P]

You obviously don't have 1 of 10 friends that would wait for a table for you while you went to Joe Momma's for a bit [:D]

Alright, I can't argue with that logic. I'll swing by for about an hour. [:)]

Be there in about 20 minutes...
MAN! I totally forgot. And none you jerks called to remind me. Now I'm at home drinking like a loser.
Good turnout...and no, I didn't rush home to post. I had other (ahem) pressing things to do on here.
I hope to meet more of you next month...not all of you but more of you.
I was going to go but got side tracked on a new project that came my way today. Will definitely try to make it next time though.
Artist, you and TulsaMini were missed and discussed. I figured you were a definite.
I'm just wondering who the "Amber" person was who bought us a pizza last night...
I'm wondering why I wasn't missed, or at least discussed. [;)]

cannon who?
I forgot to get the forum names of the people on the other side of the table from me. It's always nice to put names with faces. Send a PM if you wouldn't mind.
I was wearing the orange shirt with an army-style coat, sitting between Conan and Recycle.

We've created so many bull**** stories about our lunch gatherings to make people wish they'd showed up, no one is going to believe us when we say there was free pizza now. That was a trip. I don't have a clue who she was. The waitress with a mustache was a hoot. My friends were even asking me if it was real.
There is some guy missing his upper lip somewhere. "I will wear your mustache like a mask!" Totally Hannibal Lecter style

You were discussed. There was beer, but no you, we were confused.
And yes, no-one is going to believe us about the free pizza from amber or our waitress with the mustache.
Forumers included myself, mrsgrizzle, turoby, conan, recyclemichael, cmatt1, townsend, joemommablake, thecincyconnection, carltonplace.
Who was the guy sitting between Joe Momma and Carlton who came a little later?
Wasn't there supposed to be a South Tulsa gathering at some point? Someone needs to grow a pair and dictate the terms of such a meeting.

Well, then some FAIL BLOG pictures are in order for them I guess.
Wow, that's three lurkers who showed up then, including Mr. & Mrs. Cox.
5pts to CF for Fail Blog reference.

Bwahahaha! Wait! I guess it is the first week of March.
Howz bout spreading the wealth with other business locales for your get togethers. Looks like the downtown businesses are doing OK with the word getting out..Plenty of small places in Midtown that have food and libation as well for your meetings. I noticed one of the threads mentioned that business owners should but out flyers in their neighborhoods to put the word out, most small places just can't get out there either cuz of staffing problems and already up to their necks in issues, but I think a lot of people just don't look at stuff very carefully (me included) and developing better situational awareness of whats up in the hood, . If a business can afford it they prefer to use the UTW or Tulsa World for their advertising as door knocking takes a lot of time and very little reward.
Orion:
You are free to call out a TulsaNow lunch. It has been a while since we had one. Pick a neat local spot, get a feel for a good date and time, and a handful of people show up for lunch. I think the last time we did this was 3 months ago at the Collective (longer?).
The happy hour is arranged with the Joe Mamma's people. We get a reserved spot and half price appetizers. Apart from that having the same setting on the same day enables people to just plan for it. I don't think it is set in stone forever, but it works out well for a monthly get-together.
Like CF said, we are always looking for places to have a TulsaNow Forum Lunch. The attendance at the last one (Rancho Grande) was less than stellar. We have eaten at places in downtown, midtown, west tulsa, etc.
Next get together at my house? I have lots of ramen... :P
I think we should do a happy hour at the VFW hall...

Now I have school loans to pay for. LOL
On the one hand I like trying different places and supporting different local restaurans. But on the other, for something like this, it might be nice to have a regular haunt or two. Jo Mammas and McNellies have great atmospheres for hanging out and meeting people, grabbing a snack or just having a drink. Rancho Grande... not so much. If your the first person there, or its a smaller crowd, atmosphere matters lol.
The best places/spaces, restaurants or any public space, are the kind that you would enjoy being there even if you were the first one or only one there. Those places inevitably draw crowds regardless.
When is the next HH..is it 5/6?
I will try to drop by,,, gonna be painting clouds on a ceiling so may be closer to 6.

Yup.. today
Thought I already bumped this post. must've forgotten to hit "post"
If it's sunny for HH my lovely wife is making me go to an outdoor facility...and I understand that.
However, if we are able to grab the outdoorsish table in the front of Momma's I may be able to talk her into that.
What say you?
If anyone cares to bring a Joe Momma's pizza, a case of Marshall's, and some paint rollers by my Lortondale project, we can have HH there ;)
Cannon knows where it is.
It's that time again!
Happy Hour is THIS wednesday!
Well then. I'll see you Wednesday.

So I'm guessing Congressman Sullivan won't be joining us this time.

Stop it! That's three threads now. I learned from the first two not to be drinking any beverage when I open a thread that I see you were the last poster in!
Also keep in mind Wednesday's are LASAGNA NIGHT!
What time is happy hour? I assume its Wed, June 3rd at Joe Mommas? I would like to attend and get all the neighborhood scoop. Are girls allowed? 8)
After work.. Everybody shows up about 5:15-5:45, there is normally at least one person there at 5
It can last until about 9 or 10 depending on how many show up. Most leave after an hour or two.
Do we have the back room reserved?
Mr. and Mrs. fodder will be there. IF the rain breaks we will ride bikes!
gotta go try and pay my tags on my car, if I get done done in time (and have money left) I'll be there
