Title: Cox Mutes Comcast
Post by: MDepr2007 on January 15, 2009, 10:04:35 PM
At 10PM on KOTV a Comcast commercial came on and then the sound went off. Once the commercial was done the sound came back on .Why mute what we can't have anyway?

Can we ever have another cable company here?

Since Cox essentially owns the infrastructure they built, a competing cable company overlaying the existing offering would fail.  Simple as that.

Don't like it either, but Cox would put the screws to anyone wanting to piggyback their system.

And trust me, you DON'T want Comcast as a potential competitor.  As much as I hear people moan and complain about Cox, it's twice as bad with Comcrap.

Can Cox mute the Tulsa Gold ads? I don't need to see those every commercial break every time I watch TV.

My guess would be the comcast ad was never supposed to air, but the replacement ad messed up.

I work for a local Satellite company(think toilet paper or we want to do your dishes)
A Cox sales rep called and wanted to sell advertising time and our owner said he did not believe that they would let him buy any. The sales rep said that was no problem and our owner said he would take as much as he could possibly get. We are still waiting for that call back after a year and a half.
