Title: Trying to locate a New House Cleaner
Post by: citizen72 on January 04, 2009, 02:09:45 PM
My wife is trying to find a new house cleaner to clean our home every two weeks. Any input would be much appreciated. We live in South Tulsa around the 91st and Sheridan area.

I use Squeeky Kleen.  Kim comes every 2 weeks.  $77 per week.  I have an average size house.  She does all the usual, sweep, mop, vac, dust, changes sheets.
They will do extras for an extra charge.

This sounds like an masseuse ad I would find in Urban Tulsa...

We used Merry Maids for a while and had no notable complaints.

Too bad you don't live in Kansas City- they have alot of maid services there, "Merry Maids" is headquarted there I think, plus they have a ton of other cleaning companies, I guess because it's a easy start up business for someone who wants to be self-employed and be their own boss and the taxes and permit fees are low... They have alot of compitition and that keeps prices low.[B)]

I heard from a friend that you should request that they use your vacuum instead of theirs.

I have our service use only my cleaning materials and equipment, that way I know what is being used and I am not getting someone's "sloppy seconds." [:P]

That's a good point to have house cleaners use your own gear, I never thought about that. I'll need to remember to do that the next time I move. A good service I used is "Maggie Way Maid Service" They charge by the room size and number of rooms.[:)]

Yeah, but some of us HATE to clean. And if your spouse isn't into housecleaning, you exactly don't want to pick up his/her slack, ya know?
