I think this peace activist took a beatdown:

Wow.
Listen to 100% of it. Don't get pissed and stop.
The activist lady was vapid. Also, not very versed on her talking points. Lesson: don't show up on an adversarial radio show 13 days before American troops go into combat hoping for an even-steven dialogue. You're gonna get ambushed.
Also, on second listen 1) the tape starts in the middle of the phone call, conveniently missing however the caller was sprung on Buffa, and 2) if that guy's Iraqi, I'll eat my shorts. "Mohammed" drops his accent about halfway through. Listen to him pronounce "chirping bird," and "little girl." That's some grade A Standard American Radio Speech, peppered with a rolled R or two. Dollars to donuts they hired the Morning Zoo guy to come over and tart up his stock Apu character just to get the hippie girl's goat.
Nope, I call shenanigans on this one.

So your gripe is that this was staged? Well let's feel sorry for this peace activist who got her donkey kicked. I notice that you did not object to the arguments raised by the "actor".

I'm more than comfortable refuting this kind of stuff, but frankly find it a pretty demeaning conversation starter. Doesn't really make for any kind of, you know, discussion, does it? "Mohammed," for one, gets almost incoherent there a couple of times, and having the host spring his supposed service call-up there at the end was not only too convenient but also just kind of distastefully done.
The upshot is that there're so many good reasons that have emerged to have not gone to war in Iraq that she's actually been -- somewhat -- vindicated. Not that I'm a fan of mushy-headed peaceniks, but your burden of proof is much much heavier five years after the fact than her's is.
