Title: USA Today
Post by: Ed W on December 10, 2008, 04:18:42 PM
I guess is was bound to happen.  The Tulsa World went to $0.75 for the daily - the same as USA Today.  But on Monday, USA Today increased its price to $1.00.

I gave some thought to purchasing the World again, that is, until I read the editorial section and the letters on their website.

Thanks!  Your focus on the trivial and pointless once again convinced me to continue buying the USA Today.

USA Today delivers local (not mailed like it used to be).

I get USA Today delivered at home then read the World online for free.

Ouch! However, for the Tulsa World you can get the daily paper at the Dollar Tree Stores for 35 cents and the Sunday paper for only $1.00. This is the case for the stores in Ohio and Nebraska anyhow- I'd guess the Dollar Tree stores in Tulsa are the same way. I have no answer for the "USA Today" paper I don't know any place that sells those for a discount. I remember when those papers first came out they were real cheap (around 1982 or so) They were 10 cents or 15 cents a copy, something like that. The price has been creeping up ever since.
