Title: Poorly Planned areas of Tulsa Streets
Post by: ARGUS on December 09, 2008, 10:43:18 PM
The new exit from Creek Nation Casino on south Riverside Parkway.....they (city of Tulsa ;but probably paid for by the casino) are going to have a traffic control signal there at that location to handle the traffic going/coming from the newly built casino expansion...there is a slight bend in the road where the parking lot exits and they have an island/median sticking too far out in the natural flow (tragectory sp?) of traffic at this point. Seems to me that a series of rumble strips or painted lines would work be safer and less expensive.
I hope you can "see" what I am "saying"
Note: there are already numerous tire marks on and over this little island median; the contractor has tall trafic cones on it now that have to be re-righted from being plowed over.

Well, on the bright side consider yourself a winner if you make all the green lights in a row on that stretch of Riverside!  You can go in and say "I won I won!"

I have to say that we do have alot of traffic lights in Tulsa Metro...however, the majority of them are traffic controlled.  I have lived in many cities that did not have TC'd lights & it was so frustrating to be stuck at a timed red light when noone else was anywhere around.
