Thought we already had a thread going on this subject, but I can't seem to find it anywhere. For those of you who rarely dare to head east of the barrio, there's been some serious progress being made on the renovation of the former Eastland Mall, newly dubbed Eastgate Metroplex.
I've been noticing the changes to the exterior over the past year, but I finally went by and took some pics today, if you're interested.

It's not going to single-handedly save the Eastside...but it certainly can't hurt it as bad a huge, vacant shopping center in an area already stigmatized.
Glad to see this moving along. Havent been in that area in a while. Thanks for sharing the pics.
That area is looking good. Now if something can be done with that old crappy shopping center across the street where Target used to be. Marshalls and Toys R Us are still there but I would expect to see Marshalls close once they open up down the street in Broken Arrow next to the new Target.
have you ever seen that shopping center at night? I didn't know it had all of that '80s chic neon on it. It looks pretty cool. I agree marshalls will move out but if I were that guy I would buy it and put in some complimentary retail to the metroplex. make it easy for the people working over there to go across and shop for pertinent items.
The TRU does pretty brisk business there. I was in there just the other day and it was really crowded.
