Due to popular demand and the rabid response to past Tulsa Now lunches, coupled with the mean pie now being served up downtown - I hereby move to have a Tulsa Now lunch Monday, November 24th, from ~11:30ish to about 1:00 ish.
http://www.joemommas.com/
114 South Elgin Ave - Downtown Tulsa, Oklahoma.
For those of you not in the know... a highly informal come and go situation. Fend for your own lunch. Keep your secret identity if you want. You'll recognize the group, you just will.
I hereby raise the motion,
second?
2nd
Drats, will be working in OKC that day.
I like Pizza. I like downtown. I like guys named Joe (except plumbers). I'll be there!
I could make it, but already have plans for a MINI club dinner there Monday night! As good as it is, I can't do it for lunch AND dinner!
WE have a second. Floor vote for Lunch, sans Artist, at Joe Mamma's on Monday:
Yay.
Pizza on Monday at Joe Momma's.
I like that he has the big screen on the financial channel during lunch. That way I can watch my investments plummet while I eat.
I will try my best to make it down there. I'll have to see how my time allows at work.
I am hoping that pizza boy will put the pepperoni's in the shape of a "t" and an "n" on my TulsaNow pizza.

I did it before.
I'm in for Monday.

A tentative yes. Lemme see what I can do with my intractable Outlook calendar.

Some of my business partners call me to tell me this or that holding is dropping like a stone. WHY TELL ME THESE THINGS! Clearly there are few stocks I want to sell at this point. If you lost 70% you may as well stay until the end of the game.
But, if the finance channel is on I can attempt to eat away my misery. I'll eat through those pizza's like an auto executive through a federal loan!
I'm in. I have a lot of time on my hands these days and I might as well waste it with you guys.
"TulsaNow...helping you waste time since 2002"
I'll try to make it Monday. I haven't met any of you guys yet, and figure it's about time.
Motion passes!
See you boys(girls) Moon Day!
I'll be in town and would love to meet you guys. See you there.
I'm ready!
Work obligations have prevented me again from coming. [:(] Eat a slice for me!

Lunch time!

Please report back on the turn out.
Very full of pizza now.
Thanks for the invite.
That sounds great. I wish I could make it. I seen Tulsa Mini at one of the other meets. [:)]
Yup, twas very nice. We need a round table for next time, so we can all hear what's being said. I know there was a juicy political discussion going on at the other end of the table, but I couldn't for the life of me hear it.
Of course, that's no skin off the back of Mayor McGrizz, who seems to know everything that's happening in Tulsa -- and has his hand in at least some of it.
Fine pizza and good company. A round table is a good idea. I would like to have spent some time talking with WeVsUs and Dayzella, the only truly attractive people at the table.[;)]
Let me summarize the political discussion on my end of the table:
-Paul Tay description and discussion
-Where's Guido, Inteller, Breadburner and Conan?
-The effects of lower gas prices on environment, mostly negative
-Guns! Guns! Guns! Good vs bad when we're all fighting over gasoline.
-Deriving energy from switchgrass, wind, corn or conquering. No real consensus here except that wind may be dead and guns may be important.
-Religion! Cannon is a fountain of dangerous thinking here...
-which led to my infamous 3 Nuns joke
That's about it.

I think he is one of them double naught spies.
He has blended into our subversive group and is reporting back to "The Man".

1. I do not patronize places that employ Tay
2. I don't want to be eaten by accident or otherwise.
Dear lord man! If you don't patronize places that employ Tay he will be set loose. An employed Tay is an occupied Tay. We don't want that man running wild now do we?
Actually saw Tay on my way out. I hope the power-that-be un-ban him sometime in the future on a short leash. This forum has been missing a good rant or two.
Pizza was good. Company was good. Atmosphere was good. Big fan. Will be back.

He has a point. My pizza was odd-shaped (but still tasty).
point proven.....I'll leave all the special sauce to you guys.
The cast of characters (meant in the nicest possible way of course):
cannon_fodder
waterboy
RecycleMichael
sgrizzle
wevsus
dayzella
restored2x
carltonplace
let's do it again, I had a great time.

I would have loved to come downtown to join you guys. Unfortunately (or fortunately depending on the point of view), the fam and I are vacationing in Branson. As contentious as the arguments sometime get on this board, it's rarely personal (save USRUF, but I am sure he feels the same way about me so it's a wash).
Thanks to all who came out today. I wish I had gotten to spend more time at the table with you all.
As you can imagine, the newness of the restaurant means there are all kinds of fires to put out, issues to address, and problems to solve.
We're working on getting things all worked out and perfected so that I can do things like talk politics and Tay with customers instead of actual work.
I know zstyles will be in someday and I want to make sure that things are to his standards.
Thanks for your patronage. I look forward to seeing you all soon....Grizzle...that especially means you.
Blake
P.S. Paul has been fantastic to have around and is an asset to our team. For whatever it's worth, I'll say that I think he's been a bit misunderstood and that the real Paul is a great guy, very smart, and a hard and willing worker. I really appreciate him.
Some of us from the MINI club were there for dinner last night. The atmosphere is great, the staff is terrific, and the pizza is superb. (http://i43.photobucket.com/albums/e367/gatsby6306/thsmiley_pizza.gif)

Other than Michael V's with no kids around, is there any place on the planet you can stomach?

His cul-de-sac.
Ah, wish I could have made this. We were out of town on Monday.
We did try to hit up Joe Mommas on Wednesday evening though but, our lil guy (13 months.. er 1yr) needed a highchair though so we had to get out of there. He wasn't gonna be cool with just sitting on someones lap for dinner. We'll be back though for sure when you get some highchairs or when we get a babysitter. =]
If this gathering ever makes its way south of 61st street, I be willing to spring for the first $50.00 of food and drinks.

Where do you have in mind?

No need for me to add anything.
When I think of South Tulsa, I imagine south of 61st. That's where I am thinking, between 61st-91st.
Don't make it Hooters just south of 61st street.
My wife won't let me go there.
Cosmo's?
Carls Jr?
I would go to anything that's not a chain. But other then that am pretty open.
Too late for me. Took a job that will suck up most of my time with only a half hour lunch. Otherwise I would suggest that sports bar around 91st & Sheridan. Can't remember the name...
Are you talking about Louie's at 101st and Sheridan?
Suggestions:
Cosmo's
Louie's
That Pizza place at Regal Plaza
BBQ @ Inteller's

Could be The Brook at 91st & Sheridan.

yeah that would be the brook. That place needs a bath. My shoes are always sticking to something on the floor. Pretty gross.
For a newer (and cleaner) bar try Indigo Joes in Regal Plaza. If you wait long enough Savastano's might be open in Regal Plaza. They have to be really close by now.
Indigo Joe's would be a great choice, I just thought that place would be too far to travel for midtown folks.

Heck, we could do a happy hour if need be.

actually I have to take that back. You can't do Indigo joes unless this is going to be a meeting of BixbyNow members. However, there is a new sushi place going in behind Sonic at 111th that might be cool, and its still in Tulsa.
You know, not all us midtowners/downtowners hate south Tulsa and Bixby. Just an FYI [8D]

Hell, let's just go to Sonic. Seriously, I will start a new thread to get more input and to lock something in.
Yeah, Louie's. I heard it was a pretty good sports bar. But Indigo Joe's sounds good too. Easy to get there. An evening happy hour is all I could make.

It was not about hatred. My (stupid) point was just about the distance. I am originally from St. Louis via Chicago. I keep forgetting about how easy it is to get around in Tulsa.
