pretty scummy that a person not yet president has a .gov TLD. i guess that is a senate priviledge?
Almost as scummy as when you call him a "fruit."

Just a wild guess on my part, but could the fact that he is the President-elect possibly have something to do with Obama having his own .gov website until the day he takes over the whitehouse.gov web site?

sorry, last time I checked there was no provision for that.

Here's one called kids.gov...scummy kids. Inteller, yours has to be the stupidest whine I've heard in months. Congratulations.
In a couple of months this guy is going to be the most powerful person in the world and you think it's "scummy" that the GSA grants him a domain name to help the world learn about his agenda?
The President Elect and the sitting President are both making the transition as we speak. Running a country is kind of big deal. Your whine about a website, in contrast, is not a big deal.
So, we now have a problem, with a senator and president elect being or having staff being tech savvy enough to think: "Wow a website would be a great way for me to communicate my message, inform the public of the progress of the transition and my activities, while at the same time letting you the people give me feedback and ideas that will form my policy as president."
To me, that is a good thing, and to see how it comes about so quickly is refreshing. That said I have a feeling since both candidates where running on a platform of change, this has been in the works and there was two versions, one for Senator Mccain, and the one we see today for Senator Obama.
As a reply to the first post, it would not be likely that President Bush would want to give up his role with whitehouse.gov before his term is completely over, nor should he. If this becomes a policy issue, I would expect to see the transition.gov for future President Elects.
I've already used the change.gov website to makes some requests for the incoming administration.
i think it is pretty ironic that the president ELECT keeps spouting off that we only have one president at a time, yet he is holding radio addresses and conducting himself very much like a president. there is a transition process, but BHO is overstepping his boundaries.

Is he making presidential decisions?
Doubtful.
Your still pissed he won.
[:O]
Obama keeps reminding everyone that the economic mess is still George Bush's job to solve George Bush's messes until January. George apparently just wants to go home to Texas and cut brush at the ranch. George is the orginal and most powerful slacker.

Even if George were able to fix the economic mess before January, he would be remembered as the "cause" of the mess. Obama would be remembered as the cure of the mess. What is the incentive for GWB?

Some salvaging of his legacy, perhaps?
I mean, it'd take a lot of salvaging. But in Bush's poor position, he'd better take what he can get.

How so? Because of a domain name? Baloney; do better. It's not Obama's fault that people have written off "Mr. 19%". Nevertheless, Obama remains measured and diplomatic in his statements, "We only have one president at a time." etc.
Obama is having press conferences because people are nervous about the future and hungry for information...and so, Obama talks to the press and even starts a website with the details of his agenda.
It's called openness and transparency. I know it must seem foreign to you...even unamerican. That's because for the last eight years, people like Bush, Cheney, Rove, Fleischer, Snow, Scotty, and countless other Republicans have been too embarrassed about their actual activities to be honest with the American people. Well, let me revise that...Cheney and Rove don't care.

If you are talking about the Mayor, I think that things are getting better. For instance, the street bond was as plain as day...to the point where it was boring to read it. It was pretty much all streets and all "no-brainer" public needs and the financing was relatively easy to understand...it extended existing taxes. It's also worth noting that citizens actually did get a chance to have a say in project priorities in all of those town hall meetings.
Anyway, its a subject for another thread, but this is how local government usually is and how it should be in Tulsa...plain, simple, (small d) democratic, and boring.

I've never really doubted Bush's patriotism. He's kinda dumb and extremely headstrong, and these are by no means virtues, but I've always felt that he felt he was making America a better place. He was just wrong, that's all...so very wrong...more wrong than any President in our history.
He was ultimately accountable for all of this, and I'm not giving him a pass, but it's worth noting that the guy had a ton of help. He couldn't have done better if "Wrongness" were a cabinet-level position. It practically was. The guy was surrounded and advised by an unseemly number of rogues, half-wits, yes-men, and wack-jobs. There's no room for those kinds of people in government. We need to strive for excellence. Rove tried to sell headstrong stupidity as an asset and it kinda backfired...it always does.
I am 100 percent behind President Elect Obama and wish him well. I did not vote for him, but find him to be very likable and think he'll do his best to pull this country out of the mess that it's currently in.
We all need to back this guy up and stop beating each other up in the process.
McCain: "My friends, what's a dot gov?"
GW Bush: "Dunno. Must be one of those internets things."
