Barack Obama Has Won, What Are You Thoughts and
What changes do you expect in his first 100 days?
My thoughts: Wow.
What changes do I expect in his first 100 days:
......."and now back to our regular programming"..........
My thoughts are, we should have a discussion about this in another thread not started by a spammer. He just wants you to see the link to his spam site.
Taking in account that he will inherent an economical crisis that surpasses the one Roosevelt did from Hoover when Roosevelt replaced the Gold standard with the Silver standard which was later replaced to the "we promise to pay Federal Note standard" which let the dollar float in one-half of the world.
He must address the FDIC's insurance on single deposits where as many pensions and money markets deposits are bundles of many depositors deposited under a single deposit exceeding the limits of insurance.
He must address the purchase of Stocks to be held a length before selling to close the casino acting Stock Markets.
He must address the increasing of outsourcing of our industries.
He must address the off-shore actives in banking industries that are robbing taxpayers millions of dollars.
He must address the medical fields and medical insurance.
He has to address unemployment and migration that is replacing the American Worker.
He must take bids on rented SUPERMAN UNIFORMS as it will be cheaper to rent being he will need too many for the taxpayer to buy.
Half of the world stands by today to see if we can be brought out of the mire we have sank into.
My thought is that we have a "Politics" section for political threads.
Integrity is about to return to the white house and the henchman Richard B.(arse)Cheney will soon take his bag of money and go home.
However, will the white house remain white and will the rose garden morph into a melon patch? (Just joking) I'm glad he won it.
Also, my wife and I were amazed to see grown elderly African Americans standing in the crowd with tears flooding down their cheeks. One almost could see all the years of frustration and hurt, that they have suffered, flowing down those same appreciative faces. At long last perhaps we move closer to just getting along.
A lot of us lived through the sixties and who could have made the forecast that this day would happen in our lifetimes. Wow!
My thoughts? Wow, the people who comment on TW's site are complete imbeciles.

Very much like the radio callins this morning saying "I can't believe we're going have a muslim president."
The difference is that the people commenting at TW are
reading a newspaper. How can you get to the comment box and not pick up at least some facts from the story? I know the World isn't a great paper, but come on!

I take it you are one of those who were making the "obama is a muslim," "we're all going to lose our jobs now," and similar idiotic comments which made up around half of the comments on one story about Obama's win?

Oh, but appearances are at times deceiving aren't they now. I am one of those that believes President elect Obama will do a great job. He is intelligent has good values, cares about his country and is really skilled at getting people to work together.
A Muslim? He's not, but what the heck is wrong with being of that faith? My wife and I know several that are of the Muslim faith. Nothing wrong with them at all. In fact they are a lot more disciplined in their faith than a lot of so called Christians we know.
For the life of me I do not understand your getting me as against Senator Obama from what I posted.

Your comment implied that my evaluation of many of the TW commenters intelligence was incorrect. That implies that you agree with their assessment.
And no, there would be nothing wrong with him being a muslim. Obviously the commenters I was commenting upon disagree.
Obama is way too far to the left and must be careful or else his first two years could be like Bill Clinton's first two years and cause a backlash.
Obama ran one of the best campaigns in modern history to come out of no where and beat the Clinton political machine then the GOP.
Me thinks I aint gotta pay for gas no more, nor pay on my morgage. Now wheres my $1500 he promised. Obama Rocks!!!!

I was born in 1957. I have never had any doubt that I would see a black U.S. president in my lifetime, now it has happened, and long overdue.
What I do not expect to see in my lifetime is a female U.S. president. No gender bias on my part, and I would vote for a qualified female candidate if I agreed with her platform and opinions; I just don't think it will happen within the next 30-35 years.
I don't hold out much hope, who knows I could be wrong- But, I see Obama as Jimmy Carter on steroids. His plans to tax big (greedy) oil is what Jimmy Carter did and that resulted in high gas prices, long lines at the pumps and dry gas-stations. When the Bush tax cuts expire we'll all get a smaller paycheck. Obama's plan to run the economy from the "Bottom-Up" means we have to ask homeless people for jobs instead of business owners. Obama wants to punish people who make profits and run a business, he wants to punish investors and it's not wise to punish the job makers. I also fear the terrorist threat, the president of Iran was very happy Obama won. He can now build nukes and have no one to stop him. A nuclear Iran in the middle east oil patch is scary. Pulling out of Iraq before the job is done means we will have to go back there at a latter date to finish the job. If Obama puts Robert Kennedy in the EPA he will shut down our coal industry and domestic oil drilling. Robert Kennedy is a radical enviromental global-warming carbon gas nut. I hope Obama mellows out some from his far left views. I support a Sarah palin run for president in 2012.. I wish Obama the best.[}:)]

I don't understand the big hang up on skin color. I care about the issues and what the guy for president will do. I'd support a guy with green skin & yellow dots if he'd have a policy I believe in. I saw Sarah Palin as a Ronald Reagan and I agreed with much of what she said. McCain is more of a "RINO". I'd have supported Obama if he was a conserative no matter the skin color.[B)]
I wonder if there will be a group of pardons as Bush leaves office?

Where are all these jobs you are talking about being created?

So far this year 1.2 million U.S. jobs have been lost, with 651,000 in the past three months alone as the slide in the national labor market picked up in intensity.

Since Obama is going to take care of the lower class and homeless by taking money from "the rich" (whomever that is), I do not have to donate any more money to the Day Center or John 3:16. I encourage other "rich people" to follow my lead. Thanks Barack!

Why? Do you think that only one race of people get assistance from the government? Funny you should mention that because a far higher percentace of whites receive public assistance than any other race. So I guess if we start testing only the white people for drugs that would be considered racist...

Sorry- guess I just fail to see the humor.
Well, new developments. There are to be two administrations in the "White House." Seems Michele's mother is going to be staying there to help with the kids.
Poor Obama. Michele is going to get some close close counseling. Daughter sits and listens and the mother instills her own brand of national and domestic policy. Thus, she has a direct link to President Obama and no one is the wiser. Of course Michele is her own woman, but inevitably some of this talk will stick.
I have one of those that counsels. Though she does not live in our house, it is a strong invisible force. Through the years she has caused much husband/wife debate. A force to be respected.
My mother-in-law (monster-in-law) lived with us for five years. It was brutal.
We would try to instill certain rules and behaviors in our children and she would ignore them and act like a grandmother. It was major fights to get her to stop giving them ice cream whenever they wanted and making them wear seat belts in her car. She would always say that her kids turned out OK.
Good luck, Barack.

Wooooo, do we have a glass house here or one that has never had a mother-in-law?
Balls or not has little to do with it my friend. The pursuit of "excellence" though male (husband) modification by the mother-in-law and the wife is legendary. It follows that it is continuous, persistent and disrespective of a man's state of maleness.
If you have a mother-in-law and do not realize the above fact you have my sympathy. [}:)]
"I wanted to do something nice so I bought my mother-in-law a chair. Now they won't let me plug it in."
Henry Youngman
"I can always tell when the mother in law's coming to stay; the mice throw themselves on the traps."
Les Dawson
"Honolulu? Well, it's got everything: sand for the children, sun for the wife, sharks for the wife's mother."
Ken Dodd
Had an evil witch of a step mother while growing up. We lived on the farm and very occasionally my evil witch's mother would show up. Being the Grand Evil Witch she was for sure taking instructions straight from the old devil himself.
More than once my brother and I were sent outside, by her, to sweep the dirt anywhere there was no grass growing. It was not unlike the military in later years. My dad was afraid to get my step mother upset and was terrified of it when it came to the Grand Witch.
There are too few laws governing the activities of Mothers-in-law. They can be very dangerous.
