Title: Interesting -- and heartening
Post by: rwarn17588 on October 21, 2008, 10:29:04 AM
This is a video of a guy outside a McCain rally dishing out bumper stickers that rip into Islam.

He's told to get lost by offended McCain supporters. Among those McCain supporters are a few Muslims.

Absolutely.

As with customer service, it's typically the negative experience which is usually the vast minority that gets reported.  It's nice to see something like this, even though I don't agree with McCain's policies.

It makes you wonder what kind of pro-Obama demonstrators are outside of Obama rallies and if they have some kind of agenda against McCain.  I can't think of anything they would have against McCain other than being against his policies.

Speaks volumes to what the Republican base is used to as far as accepting or endorsing intolerance.  The GOP has largely ignored outright racism within it's base in past years, and there is still an outside chance that racism will win this election for the GOP.

It is however, beginning to be counterproductive.  About damn time really.

I posted the same message in the forum and I too thought it was heartening until I just read that McCain has silenced Muslim organizer shown in the video and won't allow him to go on CNN.

Seems the McCain doesn't want his "base" to know he has Muslim supporters.

Someone take that shovel away from him quickly!
