Title: Builder or Agent? Vision Builders gets $5.4 m
Post by: Wrinkle on October 19, 2008, 05:40:59 PM
The 10/9 Council Agenda HERE (//%22http://www.cityoftulsa.org/Agendas/agendax.asp?FN=000B0F0E&num=4%22), item 7C - Second Reading authorized over $5.4 million to Tulsa Vision Builders as what I presume to be percentage-based fees for "negotiations of Sponsorship Agreements" for the BOK Center.

Just an awareness posting, not ready to make any claims as of this point. And, kind of surprised no one has discussed the issue previously.

Does anyone know how much of BOK's $11M Naming Rights purchase is paid to Vision Builders here?

No idea.  But a 50% finders fee would seem pretty high.  Insanely high.  If that is indeed what it amounts to.

There was $18M in donations.

I think it's hard to read but I believe those are three funding sources being tapped. The last part saying there was $75,000 in unused funds that were designated to help the Vision Builders land sponsorships. It sounds like they are just pulling together straggling funds. The 2.9M in sponsorships (for the pavers, icon wall lighting, terrazo, etc) was only received a few weeks ago but the work was already done so likely they are reimbursing the accounts that paid the contractors.

Sounds like they are just trying to close up the construction accounts, etc.
