Hey Gang, I think this question was asked before, but does anyone know of a gasoline station in the Tulsa area that sells pure gasoline without that corn oil in it? The only place I can find is a station on Southwest Blvd that has a big sign out front that says they sell pure gasoline. That ethonal stuff drops my power way down and my fuel mileage too, It's pure crap. Most states require the fuel stations to post on the pump what they have in their gasoline- the pumps don't say nothing in Tulsa. I asked at QT stores and the clerk told me that all grades of their fuel is 10% corn oil.. In Omaha, NE. the stations sell only the mid-grade of fuel with corn oil, the low grade and upper grade is pure gasoline. They have stickers on the pumps to that effect too. My old heap runs much better on pure gasoline. Thanks,[B)]
A) it's not corn oil- that would be bio-diesel
B) ever since July, at least, QT along with every other gas vendor has to post on the pumps clearly that the gas contains ethanol
C) when was the last time you were in Tulsa? That Sinclair station on SWB across from the refinery has been closed at least a year, if not longer.
10% Canola
There are a number of stations here in town that still offer 100% gas. Unfortunately with the recent price declines they can't maintain parity with the E10 prices. When gas prices approach $4 for regular though they are usually in parity.
Paradise car wash at 71st/mingo is 100% on regular and premium. E10 on mid grade. They carry a 10 cent premium, but the 2-3 mpg increase over E10 usually offsets it.
I can proudly say I've been QT free for over 6 months. It feels pretty good. Don't support piss water gas stations.
Gas here is either 10% one thing or 10% another.

I think he's talking about MTBE; I don't think it's lawful to use it in OK anymore. I know several people using kits to test gasoline that tests the purity of gasoline (i.e. how much ethanol/methanol is in it or any other additive) and the stuff here doesn't contain MTBE to my knowledge.
My 100% gas station blew up a week ago Saturday. Don't know what I'm gonna do now. [V]

I go to Paradise because of the free vacs...when my kids make a Hotzi mess in the back, I can suck it up there instead of crudding up my vac at home! Paradise customer for life!

The corn oil is ethanol, or it's made from that stuff as I understand and it's blended with the gasoline and ethanol does not have as much power as pure gasoline and your mileage drops. The station that sells pure gasoline on Southwest Blvd. is just north of W 41st street (on the west side of the street) they have a big sign that says they sell pure gasoline. I don't know about that Sinclair station by the refineries never been there.

Since you live in Columbus, Ohio it is not a surprise to me that you have never been there.

Again, since you don't live here you don't know that there is now a state law that requires gasoline stations to display on the pump a sticker that indicates how much ethanol the gasoline contains.
In the Owasso area, the Shell station on 86th street across from Reasor's sells ethanol free gas. The Sinclair station at 145th and 96th also sells ethanol free gasoline and the Sinclair in Collinsville sells ethanol free gas too.

The S&S Market on 61st and 33rd West Avenue has 100 percent gas. It's a Shamrock station.

That must be the station I seen all burnt out. It looked like a older station.

Thanks I will mark that station down along with the others. Next time I'm in "T" Towne I'll know exactly where to go for good fuel..[8D][:)]
There's a Phillips 66 west of 129th E. Ave. and 31st St. that sells 100% gas. It's usually a few cents higher than their Regular (10% ethanol). The prices are usually comparable to the QT on the corner. Went up a few mpg on my 100mi/day commute once I stopped using QT gas.

Indeed, I also go up in MPG's when I use pure gasoline plus my old heap runs much better and has more pep and pickup. I need to remember that Phillips 66 station, there's also a Phillips 66 truck stop at 166th street near I-44 (the old Bruces truck stop) The pumps there have no stickers as to what is in the gasoline.. The Shell Station on 11th & 129th and 31st and 129th don't sell 100% gasoline the pump stickers tell you all gas-grades are blended. Shell is normally said to be good gasoline. The Flying "J" Truck stop on 129th has no pump stickers telling you what is in their gasoline but they do have some of the lowest fuel prices around. If they would only put stickers on all the pumps it would help out alot. Thanks.[B)]
The Flying J (Conoco Truck stop at 129th and Admiral) now has 10% ethanol stickers on their pumps...but they had Regular for $2.89 this morning!
I hate their pumps, though. They make you swipe your card...pause...input your ZIP code...pause...decline to use their fuel card (if you're not a trucker)...pause...THEN choose your grade and start pumping. I'm usually heading to the highway in a hurry most mornings, and it seems to make a quick pit stop take forever!
sauerkraut -- if you move here will you stop referring to Tulsa as "T" Towne? [B)] [;)]
I had to go back to OKC yesterday on business. After seeing gas at $2.92 on Saturday, it's anywhere from $2.95 to $3.09 yesterday. That's an oddity about OKC vs. Tulsa on fuel pricing is that Tulsa seems to go blanket on price except for retailers of "100%", while you will see a variety of pricing all over OKC.
Might have to do with QT's semi-monopoly on the Tulsa fuel market.

I have some Tulsa friends that call Tulsa "T" Town and they live there. Is that not a nick-name for the city of Tulsa?[:)]

It just so out of date.
I guess it's OK if you're 87 years old. [:)]
I believe the Sinclair station at Admiral and Memorial (just east of the glasses store on the south side of Admiral; the old Gitngo) is advertising no ethanol, but they are charging a premium.

Even if they're not using ethanol or MTBE, the EPA requires they use some sort of oxygenate. What that would be other than those two, I don't know.
My old heap doesn't care whether it's burning 90/10 ethanol or "regular" gas. I get pretty much the same mileage either way, but I have a lead foot.
My new(er) heap actually sees a small mileage difference, oddly enough, as does my SO's truck. There's not enough difference to justify the extra cost in fuel and dollars to drive out of my way to a station that sells non-ethanol fuel and pay more for it.

Yeah the pure gasoline does cost more but you save money by getting better gas mileage. A gallon of pure gasoline lasts longer, and goes farther than a gallon of ethanol plus pure gasoline has more power. Ethanol is cheaper because it gets a government subsidy I believe. The QT stores in Omaha sell ethanol 10 cents cheaper than pure gasoline and they do sell pure gasoline all over in Omaha as the "regular" grade and the pumps are marked, the middle greade or "plus" grade has the ethanol in it and is cheaper... Currently gasoline is $2.92 in Omaha and still over $3.00 a gallon in Columbus, Ohio. In Nashville, TN gasoline is still around $3.80 a gallon (or it was a few days ago)

I drive a 1993 Oldsmobile 98 Regency Elite, the old workhorse 3.8 litre V6 GM engine. I have been buying my gas at the Quicktrip at 31st & Yale for at least 10 years now, and have not noticed any significant drop in gas mileage. But I have a "feather foot", coasting when all possible, and avoiding quick starts and wastefull braking. In town, I get about 18 mpg with normal starts & stops. On the highway, the old gal still gets about 30 mpg, even using the A/C.
