This recipe comes from Grandmother Romo and was not even on the menu until Chef Romo came to the Twist. There is a huge photograph of them and they are now the restaraunts best seller. The entire staff knows the truth on this and there is a huge buzz about it internally. Chef Romo was not even mentioned in the article. Go ahead, ask Myles how to make those tamales....it'll be interesting to see him struggle to respond. Nice backstab Myles, you're a joke!
Uh, Twist is a joke. The food is terrible, the service stinks and the tamales can't save them because the restaurant will be gone in six months.
Mr. Burns
Also, isn't Romo the same chef who walked out of 3316 during a Saturday night? This guy doesn't have the best reputation as a chef nor as a human being. When working at lake Eufala he left his girlfriend with a ton of debt AND took her Land Rover when moving to Tulsa.
Yeah, He is a real nice GUY.

Yep, if anything because of the drama he carries with him. This guy is seriously a joke among other chefs in Tulsa and in time will burn all of his bridges.
MrBurns918 is SLANDERIZING Romo with INCORRECT information. The post was intended on shedding the light of truth on his work that someone else is taking credit for.
Try to keep up and know your facts before SLANDERIZING a person. You are wrong and abusive MrBurns.

Lemme guess...you're ****ing Romo now?
I went there for Sunday Brunch a couple of weeks ago. I will NOT go back, the food was mediocre and cold, the service was missing on all pistons. For my money they have to come up with something better. I had ordered my poached eggs with crabcakes as a soft poach and they were completely cooked and cold. There are other places I can spend my money and leave happier.
The Dingo ate the Tamale!! This is a pretty funny thread...I can't wait to see it in the trash!
Here is the article in question.. I don't see where the chief was ever quoted as taking credit for Romo's grandma's tamales[xx(] So all this just because Romo didn't get is name in the review?

First, Oliver's Twist is a stupid-donkey name. Second, Oliver's Twist is a stupid-donkey name.
As soon as I saw the sign, I thought, well that'll last a few months.

Ok..WTMF IS YOUR POINT?
"Don't be fooled by what you read. Myles McClanahan is taking credit in the October 2008 Tulsa People article for his co-Chef Guy Romo's tamales." AND? WHERE THE HELL IS GUY ROMO? And who is he in the pecking order...do you see employees of major corporations getting pats on the back when the company makes a milestone? NO you see the higher ups getting that from the media...so what is your point I ask again...perhaps this guy ROMO is a lower on the totem pole chef and Myles is a higher up...I dont work in the industry but this is how business works sister...

THE DINGO MADE THE TAMALES
And I was wondering if I'd miss Bear and FOTD.
Wow, As I read that article I was trying to see the point that was being made by kimmyco but was unable to get it. It clearly states that Executive Chef Miles(for whatever that title holds)tries several different recipes, trying to get a different menu to offer for the new restaurant. There are several different dishes mentioned in the article so I am assuming that Chef Romo did not create all of them and I also got that he is not the Executive Chef whom the writer was interviewing. By writing standards should the writer have asked him if he created all the items on the menu ? answer is......NO. Your friend should be happy that his Grandmothers(not him)recipe was not only mentioned but was photographed and published and praised.

Haha I don't know what came over me. I guess with FOTD gone....
In case anyone is wondering, Kimmyco apparently decided to replace her posts with simple letters of the alphabet.
I thought it was a team building exercise. We all just start posting letter of the alphabet until we hit the letter Z and then the Admin locks the thread.
c is for chef
Yes, I dedided to say "nevermind" to this one. Many of the responses here have demonstrated to me there is way too much required information on this subject than I'm really willing to write about. There are many facts I left out leaving it all open for certain conclusions, that's obvious to me now. Ok, that's the way it goes. Funny how posting exposes so many of you as bitter, ugly and brutal little *****es. How convenient for you to hide behind your monitors and be a**holes. Several of you are simply riddled with vicious cynicism. And you can have it. So to those of you of which that applies....piss off. I'm going to enjoy my weekend.
Wow, you are as big a head case as Romo, or is this one of his/your multiple personalities?
So tell me, ex-trophy wife, are you smoking hawt???
Reminds me a little of my ex-wife....hence EX
I'm late to the party. From what I can see Kim posted that "Romo" stole a recipe. When replies were negative about some other chef and/or eatery the response from Kim was not kind. The result was a flame fest against her.
Kim has now taken her ball and gone home.
Did I get that right?

D is for Duh. As in, posting on the internet may illicit honest responses, duh.

No, some other ***** chef kyped a recipe from the Dallas Cowboys quarterback, *****. Then Jessica Simpson here got all huffy.

So you left facts out, and then deleted posts, and don't like the conclusions being drawn? And you call us bitter? Have you looked in a mirror lately? Did not get the job as hostes for all the little favors for the chef that you did?
Typical, one day I was hoping to tell my grandchildren about the Great Tulsa Tamale Wars of Two Thousand Eight.
now, thanks to some 'revisionist history' i never will be able to.
e is for editing your inflammatory post.
F is for Facts, leave them out and make others draw conclusions and later call them out on it
or F is for ****ing the wrong Chef.

I go away for a bit only to find that I have been "slanderizing"? No slander here friendo, I know Guy Romo and I know a lot of chefs here in town. And, Mr. Romo knows exactly how I feel about him because I have told him this to his face.
I am kind of a big deal in this town. Ya, just like Will Ferrell. Ask your
boy, he knows who I am.
You brought this upon yourself with your silly little post about Guy(the cook) being made a victim cause that mean ol' fellow Chef at Twist stole credit for his little grandma's tamale reciepe. Don't really understand why you would post that here except to cause or add to the drama at Twist. Your intentions were vicious.
You threw out the hearsay or slander without backing it up. Now you wanna go cry about it because I called you on it. Sorry to see you go, say "hi" to Guy Romo for us and don't come crying back to us after he is done using you.
Poor little thing. I would pat your wittle little head if I could and tell you "there there".

Conan71 your post made my day, I am still laughing.
I got a message from her too, but didn't get any insults like you did, I am hurt. She wants to know my true identity. I find it interesting that she doesn't even see that if he is whining about not getting his "props" and the head chef stealing the spotlight regarding his grandma's reciepe it only proves what a moron he is. Not to mention her for being his lickspittle.
I forgot what letter we are on....

Just a quick follow up to those who care or don't, the chef "Guy" has been let go from his position with Oliver Twist and is now working at The Garlic Rose south location.
Rumor has it that the drama posted by the author was one of other things that lead to his downfall.

Burns your information is wrong. Guy quit a day before I posted the original. Why didn't you ask me in private along with all those other private messages we shared on this subject. Funny how complimentary you are about Guy in private but continue to say negative things about him on the public forum.
