KISS, are they coming to or have preformed in Tulsa?

While many of the Google rankings are fairly accurate when using the full name of the band in quotes such as "The Eagles"  a common word such as Kiss will give you a count on every article online searched by their web spider that contains the word kiss and not the actual band kiss.

I saw Kiss perform here in Tulsa circa 1975.  Someone had set off a bottle rocket early in the show that headed straight toward Peter Kriss' drum set. While he was singing "Beth" someone threw a roll of toilet paper and a bottle at the stage. He got mad and yelled "F YOU TULSA" and walked off stage while the background music to "Beth" kept playing. Very weird. The crowd was left dumbfounded. An announcement was made that the show was over for the safety of the band.

Random, that reminds me of Frank Zappa! Saw him at the Brady back about '76. He was always adventurous musically and was making an attempt at jazz/classical/rock fusion. Really cool stuff.

The audience was mostly drunk or altered in some way. Vodka bottles kept rolling from beneath the seats. Frequently someone in the crowd would yell out a favorite..."Suzy Creamcheese!!"

He yelled out "Shut up you dumb f***ing Okie rednecks!" Man, it was beautiful.

Random I too was at that Kiss concert back in the day. I was on the floor just to the left of the stage and I do not remember the bottle rocket being shot, but I saw the bottle hit his drum and he turned around and looked at his drums and shortly after that he was hit in the face by the toilet paper and thats when he stood up and said f#* you Tulsa F-you and the lights came up and the announcer said that Kiss would probably never come back to Tulsa again. Well of course they did and have since then. When we went outside there was a guy who had gotten beaten up pretty bad and the people standing around said it was the guy who threw the toilet paper. I saw them with and without makeup.

Waterboy, I too was at Frank's show at the Brady. Man what a showman he was, When he came out in that multi colored outfit with green elf shoes I about lost it. Granted his music is a acquired taste and when he sang Broken Hearts are for A-holes and was pointing at people in the audience and then at himself, I had to run out the next day and buy the Sheik your booty LP. It was so cool when his guitar solo was coming they would bring his guitar out at the perfect time and he would duck up underneath it and put his cigarette(one of many)in the strings of the neck and start wailing away. Man what great concerts Tulsa used to have.

It took them until 1986 before they did come back though.  I was at that concert at the Expo, post makeup.

I went to a concert when they put the makeup back on in Houston.  They still put on one of the best shows ever.  This is when all four of the originals toured.  Great stuff.

Well actually I got that picture in email from a coworker, and I even have a picture of him with the band but doubt he wants it posted on tha innarwebs.

I do enjoy such combinations like "Kiss Tribute Band" + "Midgets" and last night they combined "Amateur Topless Women" + "Karaoke" but I missed that one too.
