Lookit, all I know I get from the local media. I do not spend my time trolling for insider information or have any political connections. I can only say that, when confronted with the possibility of OSUMC closing, Democrat Jeannie McDaniel went on record to say: "But, I think leaders look at OKC and see how much that facility costs and say do we want to do this again in Tulsa? You know, there has to be an end to what we can provide. I say we need to look at both cities and we need to look at the whole state," (KOTV (//%22http://www.newson6.com/Global/story.asp?s=9036897%22)
A Democrat saying 'there needs to be an end to what we can provide'? That is not the kind of thinking we need representing Tulsans. I should also say it is pathetic that with a Speaker of the House a Republican Tulsan we are facing this crisis. However, I applaud Lucky Lamons for his leadership.
If anyone has any information about the status of this issue, please post.
Her choice of wording is poor and showing another example of "OKC gets X but Tulsa doesn't" is also poor, if not purely coincidental. Maybe we need to start some sort of mail campaign sending everyone oranges with bandaids on them.
This part of the story is classic state politics:
"She says she would like to see Tulsa leaders formulate a long-term plan and present it to legislators"
She's a Democrat representing Tulsa, SHE IS A TULSA LEADER. How about she shows some leadership and forward a plan. This is a state issue, she's a local elected state rep, she's the very person who should be pushing a plan and not waiting for someone else to come up one.
Idiot. Vote her out.

Unfortunately, Jay Matlock is the alternative. He failed at City Council so he thought he might have better luck at a higher level. [:o)]
