When most of you enter the voting booth do you vote strictly along party lines?
All this talk about the change McCain is going to bring yet will those same voters vote for the people who are part of the problem like James Inhofe? Are you willing to cross party lines if the candidate is at least somewhat sane compared to what we have now?
I just have a hard time believing people want change when this man is constantly re-elected over and over. The same thing can be said about democrats too. I am using Inhofe as an example because this is an Oklahoma forum.
I just cannot understand why people in Oklahoma vote for this guy who is nothing but a joke across party lines.
I miss politicians who represented us well and didn't embarrass us like Nickles, Bellmon and Boren.
I'm theoretically open to voting to someone from another party, but at this point in our history -- and the composition of the Republican Party being what it is -- I just can't fathom crossing the lines. The Democratic Party approximates my beliefs closely enough, and they have the best chance of winning national elections vs. any of the third parties out there.

To me, a party-line vote is a wasted vote, but that's just my thinking. I don't believe all problems have a partisan solution and am afraid of inadvertently voting for some complete idiots. That's partially how we wound up with Jeff McMahan.
In the '06 mid-term I voted for a near equal number of Reps and Dems.
I'm registered Republican, I will vote for the Democrat candidates for state rep and state senate in my district and I'm supporting another Democrat candidate for county commission. If the Democrats would put up a serious challenge to Sullivan I'd take a look at them. Inhofe's inadequacies are grossly over-stated and Rice flat scares me.
I do not vote strict party line. Though I do tend to vote Republican.
However, I have not voted for John Sullivan he's an idiot.
I generally vote Republican but have voted for a select few Democrats. My idea of a good candidate or a bad candidate often differ from the most vocal members of this forum. I guess that's what politics is about.
In most local and state elections, it's generally safe to vote Republican. Your candidates will probably lose and you can claim you voted against the winner when things go to crap. [:)]
