This is another in a series of unofficial meet and greets between posters. They really do build relationships and keep us from attacking each other for an hour or two.
The place is called the Collective.
http://www.thecollectivetulsa.com/
3148 East 11th. The building is right across from the stadium and used to house Hardwoods Bar.
Everybody buys their own sandwich. We can hang out from 11:30 till 1:00 PM.
We haven't done this for a while because our discussions kept getting so loud we disturbed others (they had to pepper-spray me and Conan).
We are much more likely to say something stupid in person. I type so slow that it gives my conscience a chance to think and hit delete on the forum. So, if you think we already post too much stupid stuff now, come eat with us!
Who else can make it this Wednesday?
Only if I can pepper spray Conan too.
What's the menu like?
It is on the link.
Club sandwiches with chips for $8..other sandwiches are $5.25
Pizzas, salads...regular cafe menu.

I prefer to be spanked, but do as you wish.
[:O]
Drats, I start a mural that day so cant sneak out and play hookey. Plus I start painting at 10 so take my lunch breaks at 1 lol. I try to be somewhat responsible, so cant be like every other artist and start at 10 then break at 11 lol.[:P]
I think lunch with us would inspire your painting...maybe you could put all of us in the mural.
I think I can pose. I have been called a poser before at least.
I know this lunch isn't till tomorrow...but who can make it?
I hope the newbies all show up...it would be nice to put a face with your screen name.
You can show up and remain anonymous...but the free gifts I am providing only go out to those who identify their alter-egos.
Can't, have back-to-back meetings.
I have yet to be to the Collective, too.
Phooey.

What about "we" can he make it?
Test drove it tonight, good fresh food.
I have plans on being there tomorrow.
me too.
I'm buying the first keg of Marshall Wheat. I'll be there a little later, so Waterboy or Recycle you mind paying for me? I'll gladly re-pay you next Tuesday.
[;)]
I'll be there, too. As close to noon as possible.

Whoo-hoo!!! I wish Day could come with you.
Well it was a good turnout and good food. Saw a couple of people I didn't expect, David Arnett and Paul Tay.
Also, one poster shared a very personal secret in his life... through salad.

Honestly, I teared up a little. It's always an honor to be included in something like that.
I didn't get it. The whole crouton conspiracy and greens oligarchy left me wondering. He was brave though.
My sandwich was awesome. The Golden Driller himself would have been proud. The sea salt chips tasted like regular salted potato chips, but cannon fodder's buttermilk ones tasted like cool ranch.
I drank two bottles of IBC root beer. They cost four dollars together. Next time, I will get a fountain Barq's root beer with free refills and save three bucks.
It was a nice place. Good sandwiches, comfortable atmosphere and great location.
I thought it was really nice of Eric Marshall to show up and give everyone there a free keg of wheat or IPA. He's a true gentleman. Sure got me off the hook for having to pay for a keg for lunch.
FWIW, I declined Paul's offer to go bike up Turkey Mountain with him.

You're mean. [:(!]
That was a happening place to have lunch. I saw titans of industry there today.
Businesses owners, leaders in utility companies, attorneys, sales managers, car racing promoters, hotel executives, brewers, naval officers, etc. were there.
There was even a minor blogger, a national campaign worker and a known local biking advocate all having lunch at the same place.
I don't know who the other 20 or 30 people who ate there today are, but they are probably important too.
This cafe is turning into a place to be seen. It is kind of like the Brown Derby Cafe in Hollywood.
Had a great time at the lunch today. The Brownies rock by the way. Don't tell my Cardiologist.
Low key, no stress casual time at the lunch break today. My guests included three Tulsa business owners, one is celebrating their 35th anniversary in business in Tulsa this year. They all enjoyed the lunch, atmosphere and conversation.
I am happy that place is less than a couple of miles from my mid town office. 15th Street type deal, without the parking headaches of Cherry Street. They also have WiFi.
Arnett introduced me to the owner as one of Tulsa's confirmed Liberals. I think they double charged me for my lunch! Thanks, David.
Enjoyed the good company. As Commander of the Inland Seas I presented my awesome development plans for the Arkansas River. Flintco will provide the cement to fill it with and I'll paint it nassau blue and charge the RiverParks Authority by the hour. The Artist will construct faux sailboats and we'll market it all to unsuspecting tourists as The Tulsa River.
Oh, yeah. If Conan can make a life changing conversion well, I guess I can too. Anyone got a spare McCain button?
