As good as the Eagles sounded, Chesney's concert was the opposite end of the spectrum. I don't think it was the acoustics, just lousy sound operators.
At least the building was cool inside though.
Was it cool due to the system function properly, or the absence of warm-radiating bodies?
That is, was if full?

As mentioned before, the Eagles concert was warm because the Eagles made them turn the A/C off for 24 hours.
Maybe Chesney just isn't that good of a muscian. [;)]

Is that a fact?!

Went to the Eagles thread and found you're the guy who mentioned it, and sourced Tulsa Today. That could be the problem.

Found Channel 8 as well. Was done because the "cool air effects their vocal cords"

Nah, just a fraud. At least according to his "ex-wife".

Place looked full to me. I couldn't spot more than maybe a couple of dozen seats that were empty.

He and his band both sounded good during the softer/slower moments. I think the sound board operators had the volume cranked a bit too high. There was also a little too much bass during those slower songs, but not bad.
I think they just fell victim to the same thought process a lot of musicians do these days. Crank it up as loud as you can and let the volume blow everyone away. It is even a problem on CD's/Albums for some artists. The mix is set such that the volume is maxed out.

and as I said over there. I have a hard time believing that since Don Henley made a comment about them "finally getting the air conditioning working."
Video of the event - I agree the sound was not good at all....but I am sure its not from the operators...might have had something to do with something no one is aware of..but the light show was MOST impressive.....

Nice video. The place looks pretty cool inside. I'm proud of Tulsa.
Oh, cool glad you posted the video worth a million words.
Light show seems to of replaced the old-school spot lights at the older venues that had to be operated by union-card holding operators at a high hourly pay rate. Imagine that many lights with union operators. :)
Also the Giant Big Screen High Def TV screens. Way better than a projected movie I would think, modern shiny stuff like the younger folks today are into. Shiny is the thing today I notice. Shiny car, Shiny cell phone, Shiny teeth.
So the entire experience appears to be a step up from the old fashioned movies compared to what I watch on your video. Of course the last time I attened a music concert was in the early 1970s when I saw Led Zepplin at the Tulsa Civic Center.
Don't remember if they used the old spot lights during that show or not. I do remember Patty Pig jumping up on stage and wrapping her legs around Robert Plant until security helped her off the stage.
Now I know what all the excitement is about, 19,000 people buying a ticket to watch giant shiny new age TV screens and a person that appears to be 1/2 inch tall on stage.
We agree the sound was good at Kenny's concert but the vocals sucked!!! One more concert for us and we are done if it is not corrected.

That would be the fault of the performers sound crew, not the arena staff. Last I checked most performers had their own sound crews.
I'm guessing you've never heard of such a thing as a 'sound check', right?

Sounds like Kenny hasn't

The vocals didn't suck. They were just being overpowered due to the mix. The few times he sang without the band he sounded fine.
I guess I'm not as picky as everyone else. I thought the concert sounded good and his stage presence was great. Kenny Chesney knows how to work a crowd.
However, the best thing about the concert was I didn't have to drive 1 1/2 - 2 hours to see it and then drive back. It was so nice that we were able to leave our house about two hours before the show, go eat and then get to the concert about 15 minutes before it started. We parked in a parking garage and then walked about 4 blocks to the BOK center. After the concert, we walked back to our car and were immediately able to exit the garage. We were home in about 20 minutes.
