Title: The Hypocrisy Is Stifling
Post by: Conan71 on September 03, 2008, 10:18:40 AM
I was amazed this mornong that the talking heads are still consumed with Bristol Palin's pregnancy and Gov. Palin's recent birth.  Democrats are spearing McCain and his choice for VP, but offer little better themselves.

Did anyone question a single father of two children under the age of four fulfilling the duties of U.S. Senator?  I've never heard of any dust-up over it.  Single parent.  Gov. Palin's husband would be a stay-at-home father.

I thought the feminists were all about equal opportunity in the workplace for mothers and were supportive of alternative family structures, like working mothers and stay-at-home fathers.  Where are they to defend Gov. Palin and her family?  People have actually had the audacity to criticize her for having another child in her early 40's.  What?  Libs are trying to tell a woman what she should and shouldn't do with her body now?

I wonder if Obama was aware of this little racist "joke" Biden made while trying to court South Carolina Republicans in 2006?

"Delaware, he noted, was a 'slave state that fought beside the North. That's only because we couldn't figure out how to get to the South. There were a couple of states in the way.'"

http://www.cbsnews.com/blogs/2006/12/05/publiceye/entry2232091.shtml

How about Biden's war stance?

"'I think the American public is prepared, and the president must continue to remind them to be prepared, for American body bags coming home,' Biden said. His vocal endorsement of ground forces placed him well beyond most other Democrats on the issue."

http://www.nationalreview.com/comment/comment-geraghty012203.asp

Biden's academic career:

Biden was an under-achiever in college: 76 out of 85 at Syracuse Law School- considered a "middling" law school at best, 506 out of 688 at U of Delaware.  He plagiarized a first year law paper and then claimed he didn't realize the importance of properly citing quoted material.  Total BS.  Anyone who has completed freshman comp knows how to cite sources and the importance of it.  He didn't learn his lesson and ripped off quotes from Bobby Kennedy and other former Democrat leaders and borrowed Neil Kinnock's (British Labor Party) life story as his own.

If libs are going to mock John McCain for being an under-achiever at The Academy, they should at least pick candidates and running mates who have fared better.

Obama, thus far, has refused to release transcripts nor talk about his academic performance at Columbia or Harvard Law.  Being editor of the Law Review is no indication of his scholastic performance.

"Contributing to the mystery is the fact that nobody knows just how well Mr. Obama, unlike Senator McCain and most other major candidates for the past two elections, performed as a student.

The Obama campaign has refused to release his college transcript, despite an academic career that led him to Harvard Law School and, later, to a lecturing position at the University of Chicago. The shroud surrounding his experience at Columbia contrasts with that of other major party nominees since 2000, all whom have eventually released information about their college performance or seen it leaked to the public."

Conan, it's simple.

"Perhaps the lesson here is that zealotry sometimes backfires.

Might it be a sign that Republicans should consider broadening their definition of "family values."

Why do you make the absurd complex?

Geez, what a bunch of malarkey. The RNC loves sending stuff out about Palin, she even made the cover of People, which as you know is probably a plant. This is the best thing that could happen and they are making hay. As long as this is front and center, real issues like a sucking economy, cutting and running from a war, poor military preparedness for any other wars, health care, etc. are being ignored.

Even so, all you can do is enlighten us with the depth of your hate for Biden.

Lets do something novel here. STIPULATE. We can stipulate that stupider people have run for president/vp, have actually occupied the office and lived to tell about it. We can STIPULATE that any of these candidates is probably qualified to run the country. Even though they are all bizarre in some way or have eccentricities in their history and their families...they are representative of the American fabric.

Ok? Then we can actually compare and contrast what plans they have to address real problems. Cause if we don't stipulate, neither side will stand back and take crapcakes for dinner and we'll never know their stands till its too late. Just like with little Bush.

Don't be so shocked.  This is part of the strategy.  In just a few short days, Obama has already had to shift gears into a full time media mismanagement response system.  He's had to split his time between campaigning and damage control against media and bloggers connected to his effort.

The mainstream media, bloggers, and other liberals see only red meat, and don't realize that the leg they are biting is their own.  Obama's big mistake was encouraging these rabid individuals in the media and blogisphere to aid his campaign early on when they were relatively harmless.  The choice of Palin with her human flaws has thrown them into a frenzy that he can no longer control.  This will force him to attempt to limit his connections.  I don't think that's going to be possible.

Even the relatively diplomatic, intelligent, and thoughtful liberals in the media (and even on this forum) have shifted to personal (not political) destruction tactics.

My prediction (and the obvious prediction of McCain and Palin's strategists) is that within a few days, someone within Obama's circle or close to him will make comments that will prove devastating to his campaign, and Obama will have to ramp up damage control.  When this happens the hard-core liberals will become even more brutal and damaging, and the moderates will drop off.

They cannot control this.  It's at the core of their being.

You notice the smart old liberals like Joe Biden are hiding under tables right now, not saying a word.  Yet another reason I respect him.

Obama (and the DNC in general) recruited hyenas (the media and bloggers) to do their bidding.  Now they have lost control of them, but remain connected.

Bad place to be.

I was thinking along the lines that he might be working for the Commies.......

Family tradition.

Close friend of domestic terrorist Bill Ayers.  Held his first fundraiser at Ayers' Chicago residence.

Attended a Black Liberation Theology church for the past 20 years, under the loving guidance of Ranting Reverand Wright, who raved and ranted "God D-mn America"?

Were Obama and Michelle applauding in the Audience that Sunday?  Amenning??

Black Liberation Theology has its foundations in Marxist-Leninist philosophy.

Blather, blather,....business as usual.

Hey, didja hear McCain squealed on his fellow pow's?

Hey, d'jaknow McCain's wife is frigid. And he don't care?

Is that the depth of your style of campaigning? Whoever spreads manure the fastest wins?

We shall see Conan about the hypocrisy now that it has been revealed that Joe Biden's daughter was arrested in 2002 following an altercation.

http://articles.latimes.com/2002/aug/04/nation/na-briefs4.1

I especially like the little gen at the end of the article

"Sen. Biden's spokeswoman, Margaret Aitken, declined to comment, calling it a private, family matter."

Plainly, Biden's daughter has anger control issues, disrespects the police, and perhaps a problem with alcohol. The media will certainly get to the bottom of Biden's failure as a parent. Maybe we need DNA testing to determine if his daughter is in fact his, I mean, just to make sure that this aggression is not hereditary.

I don't remember anyone piling on Gore when his kid was popped for posession either...

BTW, who's taking care of Obama's kids when he's in Washington?  Because his wife works too...one of them should quit their job immediately and focus on their children.[xx(]

No doubt, Biden just cannot stop talking about Palin.  All the liberal bloggers?  Secretly Biden.  Trooper-Gate?  Biden.  The Wasilla police chief that Palin fired?  Biden.  The AIP?  Biden.  Clouding McCain's judgment?  Biden.  Making Bristol sleep with Levi?  Biden.  He's mad I tell you!

And he didn't even look pregnant with his daughter, but the press isn't asking questions!

Missing the point is your strong suit, along with failed logic.

Palin gets vetted by the media because McCain failed to do so, and because he picked someone obscure.  What did you expect?  That everyone would accept the spoonfed bio created by the GOP?

Had Obama or Biden suddenly appeared on the national stage, are you saying the media wouldn't investigate?

This is a problem created by the decision-making of John McCain and proof positive that he lacks the judgment necessary to be president.

I love this.

The neocons are blaming the lefties for bullying Palin when it's the media, the same media that made McCain it's darling during the primary runs.  Most right-wingers would have you believe that everything coming out derogatory about Palin are coming from 'the left-wing kooks' that they despise.

Looks to me like the media has turned on the McCain camp.  Have you seen the Obama camp make any mention of these events other than to say 'hands off'?

The Dems won't have to do anything; it appears the Republicans are starting to self-destruct, much like what happened to the Dems four years ago during the Swift Boating...

McCain has a hard decision to make this week about his 'properly vetted' choice for Veep.

The MSM didn't bother, or did a very poor job of, investigating Obama until he was on the verge of clinching the nomination.  The left crew at MSNBC certainly didn't.  His associations with Rezko, Wright, and Ayers were largely ignored though Fright-wingers like Hannity were on to this a year ago or longer.

Obama got a pass with the media and continues to.  No one in the MSM seems terribly interested in looking further into Biden's potential corruption issues, there are red flags all over his finances, his associations, and his voting record.

Other than sitting on a board that happened to include Ayers, and a $200 campaign donation, what exactly is Obama's connection?  I am not sure what point you are trying to make.

Similar question with Wright.  Can you cite where Obama endorsed his ideology?  Palin's church welcomed Jews for Jesus to preach as recently as Aug. 17, with Palin in attendance, but you don't see me claiming that she endorses their ideology.

And Rezko - given the investigation by the feds (under a GOP executive with a proclivity for political targeting), do you really think they would just let something slide?

Same with the Clintons.  Do you believe Bill and Hillary held back?  Really, what more do you need to know about Obama?

Just because you can't find it, doesn't mean you missed it.

Quick thought:

On Ayers, Obama got his political start at Ayers' home and Obama's campaign also referred to Ayers as "mainstream." Geez, What did Ayers say? Oh yeah, "I don't regret setting bombs," and "I feel we [Weather Underground] didn't do enough" Now where is that picture of that coward standing on the American flag? Yep, that's "mainstream" to me. How about you?

On Wright, attending that church for 20 years is not an endorsement of Wright's message? I guess his attendance was instead some sort of quiet civil disobedience. Where's that photo with Obama's arm around Wright smiling?

Good enough for ya.

Then there's the Assemblies of God Church I grew up with.......

Palin: Iraq war 'a task that is from God'
http://news.yahoo.com/s/ap/20080903/ap_on_el_pr/cvn_palin_iraq_war

ANCHORAGE, Alaska - Alaska Gov. Sarah Palin told ministry students at her former church that the United States sent troops to fight in the Iraq war on a "task that is from God."

In an address last June, the Republican vice presidential candidate also urged ministry students to pray for a plan to build a $30 billion natural gas pipeline in the state, calling it "God's will."

Palin asked the students to pray for the troops in Iraq, and noted that her eldest son, Track, was expected to be deployed there.

"Our national leaders are sending them out on a task that is from God," she said. "That's what we have to make sure that we're praying for, that there is a plan and that plan is God's plan."

A video of the speech was posted at the Wasilla Assembly of God's Web site before finding its way on to other sites on the Internet.

Palin told graduating students of the church's School of Ministry, "What I need to do is strike a deal with you guys." As they preached the love of Jesus throughout Alaska, she said, she'd work to implement God's will from the governor's office, including creating jobs by building a pipeline to bring North Slope natural gas to North American markets.

"God's will has to be done in unifying people and companies to get that gas line built, so pray for that," she said.

"I can do my job there in developing our natural resources and doing things like getting the roads paved and making sure our troopers have their cop cars and their uniforms and their guns, and making sure our public schools are funded," she added. "But really all of that stuff doesn't do any good if the people of Alaska's heart isn't right with God."

Palin attended the evangelical church from the time she was a teenager until 2002, the church said in a statement posted on its Web site. She has continued to attend special conferences and meetings there. Religious conservatives have welcomed her selection as John McCain's running mate.

Rob Boston, a spokesman for Americans United for Separation of Church and State, lamented Palin's comments.

"I miss the days when pastors delivered sermons and politicians delivered political speeches," he said. "The United States is increasingly diverse religiously. The job of a president is to unify all those different people and bring them together around policy goals, not to act as a kind of national pastor and bring people to God."

The section of the church's Web site where videos of past sermons were posted was shut down Wednesday, and a message was posted saying that the site "was never intended to handle the traffic it has received in the last few days."
