Being on McCain's ticket nullifies any "Libertarian friendly" vibes she may give off.  The GOP of which she is running on the ticket of supports a powerful federal government in terms of both authoritarian and government spending aspects.  Any views she has (or used to have) will not have any effect on McCain's administration.  I highly doubt that even if McCain were to kick the bucket, she would actually step in and change the direction of things.
