Title: Handicapped Ramp for Residence?
Post by: Aa5drvr on August 28, 2008, 08:44:17 AM
Does anyone have any experience with any of the companies that build wheelchair ramps or specialize in accessibility for handicapped persons for a residence?

Having worked for a hospice agency, I had to have a few ramps built for a couple of our patients. There are certain standards that have to be met. Contacting churchs in the community works well as they have volunteers who do this sort of thing. Asbury and Kirk of the Hills would be a good place to start although I know when I was looking for ramps they both had a long waiting list. They might be able to refer you to someone tho. Also the trade colleges and the HS in Sand Springs have shop classes. But the ramps aren't cheap...just the materials can be  in the 100's of dollars.
