And just like that, a Republican strawman goes up in flames.  You guys (you know who you are) must feel pretty stupid.  You towed that party line for so long without once questioning the  sincerity of the argument...let alone whether or not it even made sense.  "Embolden the enemy", my *ss.  It doesn't, and Bushie knows it.

the enemy element will be so far removed internally by that date...it is very attainable.

or you could elect Obama bin Biden, pull the troops out next year, and **** up the last 2 years of progress.

they said the same thing about 2008; look where the enemy element is in Iraq now...as long as there are Sunnis and Shia living in the same country, I doubt any of this goes away any time soon.

Wait, 2010 will lose the war, but 2011 will win it?  You embarrass yourself.

People are still getting blown to pieces in Iraq on a daily basis...Iraqis and Americans.  We still have enemies there today, wouldn't you agree?  What exactly is going make them go away by 2011?  According to your own logic, a timetable for withdrawal will simply give them time to relax, regroup, and reload, right?  Nothing good can come of it, right?

Or, maybe you and our President are finally coming around to the conclusion that many of us reached years ago and that is this:  we may have started that this war, but sadly, we can't end it.  It's their problem to fix.  The Iraqis are either going to find peace or kill each other.  Regardless, there is no point in having troops there trying to stave off an inevitable whatever.  Perpetual low-grade war?  That ain't a solution.  We should leave.  It's a raw deal, and as you know, I'm generally a big bleeding heart.  But in this case it's crystal clear.  We get shot at alternately (or simultaneously) by insurgents on all sides.  Foreign extremists use our presence there as a recruiting tool, and then strap pipe bombs on those same stupid, teenage recruits and tell them to walk around until they find a soldier.  It's bullsh*t.
