Title: The liquor Store is Pretty Now
Post by: waterboy on August 15, 2008, 03:02:59 PM
Anyone notice the old gin juice vendor across from Home Depot is gone and the building has been remodeled? Its now for lease. Glory, I didn't think it could be done! Now if they can just rejuvenate the Quik Stop next to it.

Are there any plans to fix up Gunboat? Like getting those Bell's skeletons out of there and sprucing it up a bit? This could be a really cool area.

Thanks Rico. Glad to see someone is thinking about the area. Detroit has good potential. That plan is nearly 3 years old though. Better start digging the pond pretty soon.

That was the only liquor store in downtown. Selection was pitiful and the place was a dirty mess but the only other option was to drive to the over-priced spirit store on Cherry Street next to Daylight, or up to Mr Bird's store or the wine barn.

I can't wait to have some of the basics back in dt (I know liqour is not a basic to everyone), like a bakery, grocery, pharmacy.

Not to mention that the guy who owned the liquor store got stabbed several times while working there....
