Here is the website for one of the Democrats running for Congress to represent the Tulsa area...
http://www.oliverforuscongress.com/
I have met her at some political and environmental events and have seen her around town. Our kids went to the same art camp this summer. She seems very bright and focused on putting together a good campaign.
I, of course, always vote based on looks. It is not that Sullivan is ugly, but she is prettier than him.

Is that an endorsement? Here's the Democratic candidate for CD1:

Well based on that you should have voted for Lafortune.
Ignoring Inteller, I haven't heard about either of these candidates.
I have looked at both the democrats. Manley seems to be a good guy, but he is a one issue candidate. I admire him for being a peace activist, but I don't think it is enough to be elected to Congress.
I don't officially endorse anybody. I am only one voter. I plan to vote for Georgianna Oliver in the primary because I think she is the better of the two candidates.

I knew you would be voting for Georgetown Georgiana. A carpetbagging Washington D.C. special interest lobbyist who moved here to run for office is the perfect candidate for you. You claim Mark Manley is a one issue candidate, to that I ask, which one (//%22http://www.manleyforcongress.com/issues.html%22)?
How about a stand on any issues from your no issues candidate. BTW, what kind of Conservative Democrat is she if she can't even get through her primary campaign without deficit spending and borrowing money?
Maybe she is one of Kathy's Klowns(candidates who are running for election supported by Kathy Taylor)?

Say, what do you know, Double A is anti another female candidate.
Anyway I heard an ad for this woman on KRMG, it was a really bad ad, all buzz words and cliches. Change the name and it could have been an ad for Sullivan.
Of course doubleA is against the woman candidate. It it just a matter of time before he makes a amateurish photoshop of her with all the other women elected officials in town.
I have never known a person who was so anti-woman candidate.
I am also not surprised that doubleA attacks her and calls anyone supported by the Mayor a clown. It is just another way for him to disrespect two women at once. By the way, I don't know if Georgianna Oliver and the Mayor even know each other.
I don't know why he hates women, but it is no surprise that he is single.

As usual Spincycle makes false assumptions. I am not single, I haven't been for 11 years, nor do I hate women. The fact that Georgetown Georgiana has only been registered to vote in Tulsa for less than a year and moved into this district to run for this office doesn't have anything to do with my opposition to her candidacy, because in the delusional world according to Spincycle, I'm just a misogynist. Whatever.
Yes. I believe she recently moved back to Tulsa and brought her company here. She lived in Washington DC. She grew up in west Tulsa and graduated from Sapulpa High School.
If you aren't opposed to women elected officials, name one whom you support. You have attacked Susan Savage, Mayor Taylor, Maria Barnes, Randi Miller, Hillary Clinton to name a few. Add to that list Georgianna Oliver.
Just name one women in office around here that you do like.

Tulsa County Democratic Party Chair.
I don't think that counts as an elected office. Do you even know civics?
I like Elaine too. But calling her an elected official is like saying my son an elected official is because his friends voted him captain of the chess team.
Weren't you also elected to some democratic party post? If true, why do you constantly bash elected democrats on this forum?
Does party loyalty not mean anything to you? Do you think you should resign from that post when you make derogatory photoshop pictures of elected democrats?

It is an elected office.
You are once again showing the pantomimes of a pathological liar when confronted with the truth. First, it is ridiculed. Second, it is violently opposed. Third, it is generally accepted as self evident. The problem is you are so deluded in your deceptions, that you are stuck in a perpetual loop of the first two stages.
To answer your question, party loyalty is given to those who uphold the party platform and support our presidential nominee unlike the candidate you support:
Oliver, Georgianna
ALEXANDRIA, VA
22304 EverGreen Solutions/President $1,000 12/09/2003 P RYAN FOR CONGRESS - Republican
I can't believe you are lecturing me about party loyalty when you support DINO's that make campaign contributions to Republicans. You are such a hypocrite.
Oliver seems to have taken a more conservative stance than Manly. Manly's push for Cheney and Bush impeachments looks too far to the left for Oklahoma. Does anybody know Oliver's position on HB 1804?
I was disappointed to see that Jabar Shumate voted for HB 1804. I had been planning on voting for him until I saw that. I'm trying to find out Kevin Matthews' position on HB 1804 and other issues.
Does anyone know if Jim Rogers is a serious candidate? I couldn't find anything on him. Andrew Rice makes his support of HB 1804 a central point of his campaign. That's like a Democrat supporting Jim Crow laws. Not anymore Mr. Rice.
The only one on our little list I'm sure I'm going to feel good voting for is Judy McIntyre. She called HB1804 mean spirited and voted against it. Now there's a woman with guts.
I love gutsy women and can't tolerate men without character who walk all over innocent people for political gain.
Personally, Oliver running here in Oklahoma makes little more sense than Keyes running for Senate in Ill. Helps to have representation from people who actually have lived with and identified the needs of the state they wish to represent for $186,000 per year.
I guess the Democrats are content for Sullivan to stay in office. If that's what they wanted, they could have just re-run Genteges. [}:)]
We don't need carpet-bagging manufactured politicians.
No doubleA. Being voted on by a couple of hundred party precinct officials at the county convention is not the same as being elected in a public election.
I guess you would consider American Idol to be a valid election as well. Meet President David Cook.
Four out of five dentists prefer sugarless gum for their patients who chew gum. I guess sugarless gum has been elected.
Didn't you support McCorkle for mayor? He was the President of the TU Young Republicans when he was in college. I guess that means you support elected republicans.

My, you are really grasping. Your deep desperation is showing and your argument has devolved into a spin zone of incoherence and irrationality. You are pathetic. Do you ever feel ashamed that you are an executive director of a public trust and all you seem to have to do all day is sit on your fat donkey, surf the internet, and post deceptive spin on message boards? Does the mission statement of your public trust outline this as your job description? You have really cashed in on cronyism to be able to coast through your job like this. When you look up the definition of pork barrel politicians in the dictionary there should be a picture of Spincycle.
Why don't you hatch one of your crazy opinion polls? Who likes Recycle Michael and Who likes Double A?
We don't all agree with everything he says, but Recycle Michael is a gentleman and knows how to get along with people. You aren't and don't. You've got a problem that has nothing to do with politics. I thought you moved home to California. Gentleman? That's laughable, he talks all kinds of unprovoked trash, he started out this post attacking Manley as a one issue candidate when he is supporting the other candidate. Spincycle has made a career out of being a go along, get along guy, a crony, if you will. This cronyism has afforded him a do nothing job supported by a public trust, where he can sit on his fat donkey all day, surf the internet, and post on message boards. I am not surprised at all that you are naive enough to buy his PollyAnna, "can't we all just get along and be positive" act. I'd rather be an honest naysayer, than a dishonest cheerleader like Spincyle. Sorry if that doesn't fit into what you consider to be nice, not that I really care.
I am still waiting for you to come vandalize my property, like you have threatened, or is that just an empty threat from a gutless wonder? Drop by for a bite to eat sometime. I hope you like lead, cause that's what being served.
I hope Oliver makes it in the primary. I will be sure to get some signs for the yard. If'n she does not make it I guess I will be a Manley man.
Double A, If I remember correctly I said something like, if anyone deserved a potato in his tailpipe, it's you; that this isn't New York where you never see anyone again and you should act accordingly. But because this is a forum for opinion I would respect the ground rules.
But I do want to apologize to you. You are human and have all the same needs and impulses as everyone else. I would hope to change your mind on some subjects but otherwise I would not want to cause you to have any unpleasant feelings.
Retribution is not my style.
Anyway, the more I read about Oliver the more she looks to be a serious contender. I still have some questions about her but I sure would like to see someone take out Sullivan. He and Coburn are at the absolute bottom of the political barrel.
From Manley's Bio:
"After working in manufacturing at the Port of Catoosa for 24
years, Mark was forced to find another career when the plant he worked for had massive
layoffs. After some consideration, Mark chose the healthcare profession and has worked
for several years as a patient care technician at St. Francis Hospital, hoping to complete
his education in the nursing field. "
In other words, he's basically a nurse tech and sick of earning $13-$14 an hour. How better to improve one's life than to jump into the lottery for a $186K per year job with lifetime benefits. Yikes!

"Attended OU". Translates to college drop-out. Not saying that makes him a bad guy, but his resume seems intentionally vague.
Here's what he stands for:
Mark Manley supports:
A quick and orderly withdrawal from Iraq.
Impeachment and/or prosecution of any member, or past member, of the
current administration or Congress who knowingly lied to the American
people about the threat of Saddam Hussein and the country of Iraq.
Universal health care for all citizens in order to bring U.S. life-expectancy in
line with that of the other modern industrialized countries of the world.
A repeal of the Patriot Act and restoration of constitutional rights of privacy for
all Americans.
A repeal of the Military Commissions Act which suspends rights to a speedy
trial, rules out the use of the Geneva Conventions as a source of rights,
and denies the right of habeas corpus.
An end to torture and restoration of America's moral authority in the world.
Public financing of campaigns and public control of all media. We must work to
remove the influence of money, replacing it with ideas, in our political system.
Publicly-supported education through a four-year college.
An aggressive national policy on global warming to include alternative energy
and mass transit, two industries that will create new jobs and possibly end oil
dependence.
Ending the appeal of outsourcing by revisiting NAFTA and WTO and
requiring all companies importing goods to the U.S. to pay wages
comparable to living standards in our country and to support international
environmental standards.
He wants to quit lining the pockets of big business, yet wants the biggest business to keep lining it's own pockets: The U.S. Gov't.
He's also a peacenik and impeachment head:
The Manley campaign will focus on presenting a new documentary "Considering
Democracy" for discussion in various town hall type meetings. Mark looks forward to
engaging regular folks in this, the most important election of our time.
According to Joni LeViness, Peace House~Tulsa Volunteer and Veteran Anti-war Activist
and Civil Disobedience resource in Tulsa, "Mark Manley embodies the spirit and the
energy of Woody Guthrie, Will Rogers and Dennis Kucinich! It's a testament to the spirit
of democracy that still exists in the hearts of Oklahomans that he's willing to step up to
the plate!"
Mark is a member of Tulsa County Democrats, Democracy for America, United for Peace
and Justice and Tulsa Peace Fellowship.
I admire his passion, but he's already in over his head. Not that Sullivan isn't. Why won't the Dems run a quality, home-grown opponent who has actually lived here all their life and not been involved in the beltway? [^]
Lastly, he's a sloppy dresser:

How can you be a conservative and run up $37,000 dollars of debt in a primary against an opponent with no money?
OLIVER FOR CONGRESS 321 S BOSTON AVE #200 Type: HOUSE
TULSA, OK 74103 Designation: PRINCIPAL CAMPAIGN COMMITTEE OF A CANDIDATE
Filing Frequency: QUARTERLY FILER
Treasurer: CLAYTON E WOODRUM
III. CASH SUMMARY
Ending Cash On Hand $12,350
Net Contributions $20,715
Net Operating Expenditures $8,365
Debts Owed By $37,100
Debts Owed To $0
Sending a big deficit spender like this to Congress will bankrupt us.
Oliver is from Sapulpa, Oklahoma. She established a successful business in D.C. and has a background doing political work. She describes herself as a conservative Democrat.
I've still got to hammer down her position on a couple of things but so far she looks like a viable candidate to me. As you may know, getting rid of Sullivan is on my short list of priorities.
$37,000? In this day and age that's chicken scratch. Sounds to me like she is someone with the resources to win.

Still with that played out old B.S? I judge candidates by the content of their character and their capabilities, not their genitalia. She went into debt on this campaign against a no name, no money candidate who still got 44 % of the vote. Sully wins this one big time without even lifting a finger.

Since you only seem to support Democrats that donate to Republicans are you? I am a real Democrat, because I support real Democrats. I'll leave that part of the ballot blank.
Let's see...who do I want to be my Rep...a man who's been in office long enough to make a difference, but hasn't, or someone who might actually DO SOMETHING GOOD for the citizens of Oklahoma for a change?
Sullivan has had the opportunity, and has been Bush's butt kisser for the most part. He's also - I believe (and I know someone will correct me if I'm wrong) - a liar who provided false information on his real estate documents, which caused him to lose his license, and wasn't he involved in an arson at some point?
Yes, John Sullivan is just the kind of person we want representing Oklahoma. We have to protect our status as having the worst health care in the country for our citizens, and the highest teenage pregnancy rate. But there IS some good news! We rank second in the nation for deficient bridges, so public safety is obviously not an important consideration with "Mr. Family Values", either.

How about this...
I WAS a Democrat...then switched to Independent after this years primary.
Why? Because I think the Democrats (for the most part) are a joke.
And because I'm not scared to call people out (nor have them call me out) I'll throw out what really pissed me off.
I posted on the Democratic (demookie) forum about internships. They could be paid or unpaid, I just wanted to help out...the person who seemed to go out of her way was Lori Cain. And I really appreciated it.
Then I posted a devil's advocate argument about abortion there, to see what the counter-argument was to it, because I honestly think both sides make strong arguments.
So, all of a sudden, I'm some horrible conservative person to Lori Cain, she no longer wants to help me out, she ridicules my political beliefs based on a devil's advocate argument.
So have fun questioning if someone is "really" a Democrat. That bull**** made me walk my happy donkey to North Denver and change my affiliation to No Party.
Sure...I'll vote for Obama. But the rest? All 3rd party if I possibly can. It's my way of protesting the Oklahoma Democratic Party. And I'll tell anyone who's voting that same thing.
Hopefully we can get that 6% Shiela got in 2004 up to 15% this year in the Senate race.
GOP? Obviously a joke.
Democratic Party of Oklahoma? Step-child to politics in this state. If they aren't throwing some anti-gay phoney like Carson out there, then they'll rip your donkey for not being a feminist.
No thanks.

Yeah well whoever wins the Dem primary real Republicans should too . . .
What happened? Did Sully and some of his thug buddies rat-pack you back in high school? You really hate the guy.
That is the second time in these lo so many posts that you have alluded to the school-yard bullying of Sullivan during his yoot, and just now I get it! In short, no relation to
that Huntzinger but thank you very much.
I am less concerned with what Sully did in high school than I am with his failure to lead since being in office. He flies with the Randi Miller wing of the Party with the other Country Club conservatives. Like the editor of a wanna-be daily paper told me once, he is merely "Inhofe's b****."
What really got me was helping out with Wortman's primary. Sitting in Wortman's home on primary night he gets a call from 'Sully' who starts bagging on him. And then in the second Wortman campaign when - presumably - one of Sully's folk hijacks a domain name from Wortman and concludes the slide show with the F bomb.
I just wish someone would remind voters that Sullivan is just another do-nothing tax-and-spender following the lead of his well-heeled buddies.

Why did her response surprise you? You thought you were part of some party other than humans? The GOP would have responded similarly had you tried the opposite ploy on them. Go to a Libertarian party meeting and volunteer to help then try questioning whether anarchy might ensue should corporations be allowed to trample unfettered through our countries assets. Think you'll get a different response?
One person responded, most likely thinking you were some sort of infiltrator and you run like a scolded puppy. Be upfront with folks and likely they'll respond in kind.
