Title: What Kind of Dog?
Post by: zstyles on July 07, 2008, 11:44:43 AM
From Detroit to Tulsa, Coneys are a favorite: small-sized, all-beef natural casing dogs served in steamed buns and topped with minced meat chili, mustard, and chopped onions (order the "loaded" and you'll get shredded cheddar, too). Depending on where you are in the Midwest though, they can come big or small, grilled or steamed, with "coney sauce" that ranges from the drier side to the wet.

So where are the best dogs in Tulsa?  Best I've had so far was a Chicago dog at a Driller's game.

Can anyone recommend a place to get a Chicago style dog?  I'm culinarily homesick.

Other than Coney Islander...

Los Unicos @ 3rd& Lewis.

They have amazing hot links and polish dogs. Be sure to get everything on it... the jalepeno spread is awesome.

They also have good burritos and quesadillas too.

I dont think that was a question...this wasn't actually a thread that was for comparing (AGAIN) where the best coneys are...but thanks for your ADD.

maybe I'm slow to catch on, but I didn't understand your intention for the thread so I guess I hijacked it with 'Where do I find a good dog'  - BTW, best I've ever had was in Chihuaha Mexico (near the central bus station) I couldn't tell you what all was piled on it, but it was wrapped in bacon and had jalepeno....
