Last weekend I spent 3 nights in one of the cabins at Greenleaf state park. My wife and my 3 YO girl fished swam and relaxed.
I recommend this place highly! The cabins are modern clean and bug free with A/C and nice kitchens. Deer and wild turkey walk right up to you in the morning and eat Doritos out of your hand. The lake is clean and quiet and you can catch crappie and bass right off the shore line or from any of the inexpensive boats available for rent. There is also a nice pool with slides and activities for the kids.
When my wife told me we were going I was apprehensive because I thought we would run out of things to keep a very active 3 year old occupied, but it turned out to be one of the best short vacations I've ever had!
Greenleaf is down by Tenkiller lake in Braggs OK, next to Ft. Gruber. If you're a trout fisherman, there are trout streams within a few miles of the lake.
We have gone with another family and stayed at cabins 1 and 2. They have their own little road and are at the top of the hill. I love camping, but my wife prefers a real clean bathroom and shower. Greenleaf is the best of both worlds.
The deer were amazingly friendly. They would just hang out with us.
Did you take a boat ride out in the lake? It is very serene. Did you gather with the ranger on Saturday night for the astronomy lesson? My kids loved it, too.
I took the boys over to the special kids fishing pond. It was nice and I felt safer than having the kids fish off the dock with boats all around.
Does this park have a website? Excellent info. Thanks.

I've hiked the Green Leaf trail (24 miles around the lake and into Fort Gruber), very scenic and you will see another person about once every 2 hours. But beware of the tics, wow. I thought they were blood sucking horses.
The facilities at Green Leaf are top notch. Well worth the 45 minute drive from Tulsa.
The cabins are great. Comfortable beds and solid air conditioners.
Some of the stuff needs a little care. The miniature golf course needs new carpet and some of the hazards need new wood. The paddleboats were great, but the dock area needs some repairs as well.
Overall, I still love the park. It gave my kids a chance to think they were off in the woods alone while the wife and I could keep track of them. The fishing and connection to nature and animals were really fun. The cabins are spaced apart just enough that you can't hear others, yet two families can meet at a campfire between.
I realize this is a Greenleaf thread but I always like to take these opportunities to suggest Beaver's Bend at Broken Bow Lake. There is no prettier lake or area in Oklahoma, IMO. And you can find a cabin there as rustic or as elaborate as you wish, depending on how much money you want to spend.
The golf course is very interesting as well. They have paddleboats and canoes (I think), trout fishing, a neat logging museum, a train, all kinds of stuff to do. I highly recommend it.

We rented a pontoon the first day, and then a small motor boat the last day. Caught lots of Crappie and my daughter was the official minnow catcher. It was hard keeping her out of the minnow bucket!
Yes..great place..nice people and cozy places to sleep..ONE THING DO NOT SPEED INTO BRAGGS..it is a designated SPEED TRAP..the speeds dropped when I went into the city limits from 55 to 25 and the cops were waiting..they had 2 people pulled over..just a warning if you are heading to this place....but yes..it is a nice place

They had horseback riding back in 1996, not sure if they do now.
I stayed at the Eagle Creek cabins in Octavia a few years back. Quiet, scenic, very nice cabins. Highly recommended if you want to get away from it all.
This is one of the most scenic areas in the country, from roughly Broken Bow to Talihina to Poteau running east to the state line.
How many OK state parks have paddle boats? Robbers Cave state park used to have them, not sure if they still do.
