Title: Old Smokey Bones being renovated?
Post by: safetyguy on June 29, 2008, 09:13:24 PM
I drove by the old Smokey Bones on 71st the other day and saw a work trailer and equipment parked outside. I don't recall anyone mentioning what was going in. Anyone know which restaurant is going to take a stab with the location?

Haven't heard or seen anything. I've been wondering what is going behind circuit city, east of the mall. They are doing a lot of dirt work there.

I saw that Longhorn Steakhouse has filed for a building permit. In a quick look at Mapquest I think that is the old Smokey Bones.

The renovations have involved taking down the exterior down to the tyvex wrap and moving the entrance to the west side of the building so far.

If it's a steakhouse, I'm guessing FAIL.

Eventually Marriott will own half of 71st. There are 3 Marriott hotels behind Chipotle.
