Title: Produce Stands
Post by: lsimmons on June 24, 2008, 04:26:31 PM
I went searching today and came across one produce stand at the 91st and Harvard area. Does anyone know of any others around town?

I'm at 85th and Garnett or so and I was trying to find one closer than driving out to Bixby.

Thanks

You live pretty close to Bixby.  There's a stand here at 51st & Lewis.

Harvard Meats has one at 15th and Harvard (not the best IMHO, but OK).

A better one is at 31st and Sheridan.

Unfortunately, IMHO, most of those places are over priced.  Seems you get a better deal at Reasor's - and there is no indication that the produce is fresher or more local.  Hell, for all I know some might be run by Reasor's.

I'm thinking that there is one near Ted n Debbies/Sonic on Harvard. I've never checked it out.

It's owned by T & D, they are using both properties.  Good produce.  I don't think I shopped there as much last year as I did the year before, have not been this year at all.

Also, Pretty hard to beat the farmer's market at 15th & Peoria on Saturdays.  Gives me something to do after rowing.

There is also a farmers market in the Westlake hardware parking lot at 41st and Peoria on Wednesday mornings, like tomorrow.  I sure hope Don is there with peaches.
