About 100 people crowded in to Harwelden Mansion to attend a Civic Dialog on Vision 2025. Two representatives from each side of the issue responded to questions from the audience regarding the group of four packages that will be presented to Tulsa County voters on September 9. This meeting was the first opportunity for Tulsans to pose direct questions to proponents and opponents of the Vision 2025 proposition. The meeting was sponsored by TulsaNow and moderated by KWGS general manager, Rich Fisher. Representing the Vision 2025 proposal were Karen Keith and Paul Wilson. The opposition view was presented by Michael Bates and Jack Gordon. In addition to the hour and a half of lively Q & A, the audience participated in a mock vote–complete with authentic samples of the actual ballot. The results of the impromptu vote show most in attendance support the plan. The high approval is not surprising since TulsaNow has been so closely involved with the Vision/Dialog process. A total of 65 votes were cast with 42 voting Yes and 12 voting No for all four packages. That is an approximate 65% approval, which is a bit higher than the Yes votes received in our Online Poll since July 4. Neither vote is scientifically accurate.
