Today, Lt. Governor Jari Askins announced she was running...fellow democrat and state Attorney General Drew Edmonson has also filed papers to be able to run.

Republican Congresswoman Mary Fallin and republican Congressman Tom Cole have also been mentioned as has democrat State Treasurer Scott Meacham.

Oklahoma votes for republicans for federal jobs like President, Senators and U.S. Representative. Oklahoma generally votes for democrats for state postions.
