Though I did hear an interesting story on the formation of the two groups.  The ypTulsa folk got together first, then approached the chamber for sponsorship.  The chamber said something along the lines of "sure, as long as we get to control everything you do."  The ypTulsa folk turned them down.

The chamber formed TYPros a month or two after that meeting.  What a wacky coinkydink.

What really translates TYPros are TAX funded.  [Sad!][Sad!]

I admit to being baffled by "microphone-grubbing." It sounds awful.  At the same time, it doesn't sound very awful. Were they pushy karaokiers?

I think Grizzle will know which project they roped me into with them.  Let's just say they like to take a lot of credit for other's work and don't bother to thank those who actually do the work.  Let's leave it at that.  No need to mention what it was.

Thank you notes and gracious personal contact go a long way in making individuals and companies feel like their contributions are appreciated.

Perhaps we have found the "key" to success.

Typros model:

Take all the credit (but do nothing) = sustainable model

Yptulsa model:

Take no credit (but actually do something) = not a sustainable model

Wow, that sucks.
