What is a "Pedestrian Check"........?

When officers see someone on the street and want to talk to them for some reason (the reason could be anything), they will check out on a pedestrian check. These just tells dispatch that they are out of their vehicles at a certain address.

No scanner here.....Just had a couple of officers in the neighborhood the other night after dark 30 and wondered what was going on....So I checked Tulsa Police.Org and it said pedestrian check....Most all other calls are easy to figure out.......

Ok, I've been wanting to post this for a while now... I guess this is as good (bad) of a place as any.  RM's post reminded me of this obit I ran into a while back and shared with some friends. Now, I share it with you.

Dear god, I can only hope my obituary reads like this.  I do not really know who Jörg Immendorff is (was), but I do not care.  The man is now a hero.  Some people are impressed if it says "Sir so and so" or has a list of accomplishments.  But no, this takes the cake.

Well have to change that if the "walkable city" is to be more than just lip service.
