Reverend Canon Charles Gibbs, a 1969 alumnus of Holland Hall, will be the inaugural speaker for the Holland Hall Alumni of Distinction Speaker Series with his lecture titled, “Authentic Hope in a Fearful World.” The program will begin at 7:00 p.m. and be followed by a reception. Tickets are $10 per person.  Call 918-481-1111 ext. 717 to make your reservation.

Reverend Canon Charles Gibbs’s topic, “Authentic Hope in a Fearful World” will draw on a decade of global interfaith work to talk about how to live with authentic hope in a world distorted by fear. Drawing on his work with people of all faiths in over 60 countries, he will offer a vision for a positive future and explore ways people of all faiths all over the world can work together to make this vision a reality.

The Reverend Canon Charles Gibbs is the founding Executive Director of the United Religions Initiative, a global movement whose purpose is to promote enduring, daily interfaith cooperation, to end religiously motivated violence and to create cultures of peace, justice and healing. In his work for the URI, Rev. Gibbs has traveled extensively, working with religious, spiritual and other leaders in Europe, Africa, the Middle East, North and South America and Asia.
