Did anyone read Janet Pearson's article this Sunday regarding land development?  Mostly, the article discussed the problem of animosity between developers and neighborhoods that is occurring throughout the country, and the need to rethink our approach to land use issues.  We need to adopt an approach that does not pit developers and homeowners against eachother.  It referred to a organization, www.landuse.org., that attempts to provide guidance to planners, developers, and especially neighborhoods to ensure that the entire process benefits all.

I know little about the organization, but was wondering if anyone else did.  It seems to make complete sense--bring the neighborhoods into the process early on, ensure their voice is heard, and then make decisions that balance the needs of the homeowners with that of the developer.  Wow, how radical.
