There is a historic opportunity to have new blood and shape the development direction of the City and County.

See: http://www.incog.org/TMAPC/tmapcmembers.htm
TULSA METROPOLITAN AREA PLANNING COMMISSION

There are three open positions on the TMAPC.  Brandon Jackson's and Mary Hill's (City appointees) terms expired on 1/18/06.  Mayor LaFortune's office submitted and then withdrew their re-nominations just a few weeks ago.

Jackson was appointed in 1997 and Hill in 1998 by Mayor Savage.  They were reappointed by LaFortune to a second 3 year term.

Mayor Taylor must submit nominees within 60 days or the new City Council can name their own appointees.

Over at the County, TMAPC member Baker Horner resigned in March.  The BOCC must name a replacement to fill his un-expired term that runs through 1-18-07.  Horner had been on the TMAPC since the 1980s- first as a City appointee and then when Mayor Savage appointed someone else, as a County appointee since 1993.  Comm. Randi Miller must recommend a replacement as Horner was designated the CC Dist. 2 appointment.

The TMAPC will be doing major things during the next two years.  In addition to their regular zoning work, they will be working on Tulsa's first revision of the comprehensive plan since the 1970s.  They also will be considering other major and minor amendments to the zoning code, the possible switch to form based zoning and the role of design guidelines in zoning changes.

What thoughts do y'all have? Who should Taylor and Miller be considering?
